and surprisingly, im not talking about the players, the board, the manager etc. but im talkin about myself.

I actually am not sure how Speed could possibly improve things at the moment. Considering that we have no money to bring in players (i assume if we did, speed would have done it by now) he has changed it around several times with varied results. I like Ched but its becoming more apparent that he is incapable of playing up front by himself. On the other hand, who else do we have? I feel for speed because this is going to be a very tough job for him.

I think we just need a lot of time and the fans need to allow speeds a pressure-free season. We need to accept we are in no position to make any promotion challenge this season and we just need to change the philosophy of the club. He is doing it slowly and i am very greatful for it. Unfortunately it means we are going to struggle this season and losing to leeds (bearing in mind i live and work in leeds) is a very painful blow for me.

Keep your heads up blades, the club is slowly changing and we just need to give it time. Fortunately, we dont have to play the pigs this year and have no fear of losing the 'big' one. On a side note, i'm loving their misery, marvellous!

Yes, I think that sums things up extremely well, Blader.

theres plenty he could do. hes obviously identified calve is a lightweight RB - however hes got a hell of a cross on him.... play the man utd ladt at RB, morgs and bartley, jordan (cant crucify him however woeful a mistake today...) calve/ertl/britton/quinn, cressy/ward or evans (or better still bring someone in on loan who can score goals!!!) up front. playing to not lose with no fire-power is a gamble that can only ever at best bring you a point, more often than not a defeat.

i think theres definite better signs in terms of quality of play but, we've very few goals in the team in the way its laid out presently.

Bogdanovic must be properly shite, considering he's getting splinters in his arse while Evans starts. Unless it's because he's not Welsh? The Welsh Mafia in full effect - The Taffia.

One thing that I'm interested in seeing is the return of Big Bad Darius.

Throughout his time so far, I've been saying that he'd be far better in a footballing side than one that humps it up to him like we did under KB. Simple football that gets wide and gets in crosses should - if Hendo gets in the right places - result in goals galore for the big man.

Too be honest I didn't think that there was much wrong yesterday. We set ourselves up not to lose and but for a howler of an error from Jordan, then we'd have got a decent point against a team that has creativity and a good number of attacking options.

We silenced the Leeds crowd (their fans didn't sing at all).

Yes we got a bit of luck, we seemed to have a ref and his officials on our side and generally coped pretty well with the Leeds threat.

Blader's right, we have to be patient, Speed is trying to change things from back to front but its going to take time.

Good to hear Speed admit his possible fck up for the result based on how we played. But I thought he explained his philosophy well. We tried something, it didn't work. We learn the hard way

Yes we need creativity, but we also need to not lose away, so if we play out and get a draw away against a fairly good side then great, but if we lose like yesterday we need to try and work on the back middle and front.

What we need right now though is:

a) cut out the individual errors at the back, too costly.
b) Midfield, yesterday were ok, but for me its Ertl or Monty. Not both. 4-4-2 is adequate.
c) Ched NEEDs a strike partner desperately, yesterday he led the line better, but is crap in the air, so lets avoid the long balls centrally and give him balls to feet or to chase.

Admittedly we have a fairly long way to go, but we're not that far off...

I agree. With the introduction of a decent wide man and Henderson in the middle, i think he'd get a good tally of goals.
WTF's wrong with Cresswell at the moment. He's looking sluggish and pretty dis-interested to me.

boogy scored 16 for the dingles last season, more than chedwyn did for us. give him a few starts and i think he'd score more goals than ched will.

Ched needs either a target man to feed off, like Henderson, or we need to be playing balls in below head height for a fast small bloke - Ward springs to mind - to run onto. Cresswell and Evans haven't gelled together thus far, so why not drop one and let yon scruffy lad Boggy have a start? Or at least give him a decent amount of time from the bench. Either way, Cresswell as a left winger isn't working.

Precisely 4 times as many as Ched did, in a poorer side. And whatever the stats, it plays out in front of you every week. Other than a massive price tag and salary, all evidence says he's well short at this level. Surely Boggy will get his chance shortly.

Never mind a 'pressure free season', it will be a relegation season if we are not careful. I feel for Speed, but under him we have showed no improvement in football or results. Sure we can give him more time and be patient, but if we don't book our ideas up we'll be in league one next year.

Have to agree with this. I think that Henderson might be the difference in us staying up, rather than going down. Evans isn't up to it, Speed has no faith in Bogdanovic and Cresswell couldn't hit a barn door. We really need Henderson.

I always rated big Darius, although he has been a big disappointment for the Blades. Still, I feel that was more tactics than him. Hoofing it up to him didn't get the best out of him. But Wombwell, do you think we can play to his strenghts now? We have no width and no wingers to supply crosses to him. I'm sure Hendo will do better in Speed's team, but you can't score if you don't create chances. Hendo would do a better job at holding the ball up etc than Evans, but he can't put the ball in the next unless we create chances. I'd argue that Williamsons return is just as, if not more, important. I'm sure having Hendo and Willo in the same team (if they can both stay fit) would mean a big improvement.

Yeah it was nice to see Speedo stand up and be counted. Takes a real man to admit he was wrong. It wasn't all his fault, BUT he took it on the chin. Nice to see.

These individual errors ares stupid and very costly. We really need to cut them out as it could be the difference between us playing Championship or League One football next year. We need to work on the basics in traning. I've moaned enough about Speed's persistance with 4-5-1, but the more worrying factor is that every single United fan can see that Eryl, Monty and Britton in the middle isn't working, except Speedo.
