We are not trying to sign anyone to replace any of the 1st team. This TW’s business will be for backup players not stars.

So what the official news on this...nothings been confirmed;

id be shocked if Wilder let Freeman go without knowing that Cash is in the bag.

Couldn't we have just re signed hendo and then been.able to splash out on a couple of championship players ?

Isn't he on 120k a week now? And didn't them tits want us to pay his full wages? Several million on his wages alone knowing it would 99% be the last season we'd have him or splash the cash a bit on our keeper for potentially the next 10 years. We made the right decision with that one I'm afraid.

Baldocks a 7/10 every game for me and no more. If he could actually cross he would be an 8 or 9. He’s great defensively (which is good for a Defender) but could offer more going forward. We don’t put enough clinical balls in to the box for any striker let alone new ones.

I actually think Baldock is more technically gifted than you give him credit for. We could certainly put a highlight reel together of him turning players inside out!
That’s not to say I don’t think Cash looks good going forward... I just mean I’m more than happy with Baldock at RWB. Plus he keeps getting better with every season.
I want Cash to come here cos he would make that right hand side stronger than what Freeman offered. Not cos I saw him as a straight up Baldock replacement. Baldock/Cash would signify a greater squad moving forward than Baldock/Freeman was last season. That’s what we are striving for!

Wilder has stated that he wants to improve some positions. Given he bid on Cash, I'd say this was one of them.

If Freeman is unhappy and won't feature then you'd let him go. Plus it's only a loan. Doesn't feel like a makeweight in a deal.

What will f*ck me off is losing out to those pricks in Birmingham. Still expect them to be relegation candidates next season.

I would say that Freeman going on loan rather than being sold is about the wages he is on. If he is not playing regularly for us and it's the best we can do so be it. As for Cash we would be foolish to think that we have only one target for any position. Cash may have been identified first but we all know that there will be competition for anyone we would try to buy.
We just have to be patient to see who comes in

Patient?.....oh, I see you’re new here.

What's everyone fretting about Matty Cash for? I'm sure there a more players we can go for in his position than just him.

The positive spin I am putting on this is that if Villa bag Cash for £12m they, presumably, won’t be in again when we start bidding on our next RWB target...

Maybe that’s how the window will pan out. Let Villa, Fulham, Leeds etc do their business so that they’ve already spunked their monies when we move on to our next set of targets?

I honestly don't think Cash is good enough defensively. He may have improved over time there but our wingbacks have to be really good in that area.

What are the chances of Kieron Freeman being given another year?

Until we sign another player in RWB and until he signs for someone else, this has to remain a possibility.

It doesn't take us to the next level and it would in some way be disappointing but not as disappointing as spunking in excess of 10m on a signing because we need a body as cover.

If it's not meant to be for Cash then you move through the list. No saying that your 2nd choice won't end up being a better bet than your 1st.

I don't think George has finished developing by any means.

With McBurnie getting stronger I'd say 10 out of the first 11 pick themselves anyway.

I don't think our interest is in his defensive qualities though. I think it's about making that right side of our team more effective in terms of attacking play. Which is something I think we need to do, because most of our play goes down the left. I wouldn't have a clue about his defensive qualities tbh - the only thing I know about him is what I've seen on YouChube with him ripping through teams down the right flank. And I quite liked that. But, if it isn't to be, it isn't to be. There will be others.

Spot on - I rate Baldock - I really do - but just final pass let’s him down - IMO Cash would eventually replace him - but what a great pairing - to Baldocks credit if Cash goes to Villa one of the reasons will be he doesn’t fancy a scrap for the RWB role with George.

If we can't get a first choice in player in just bye cheap and get relegated simple as that that 2 players we lost out on how many more are we going to go in for and lose on its not a bad return when you finish 9th get 135 million and spend 18.5 on a keeper And wanting to spend 10 Bob on everyone else unbelievable

.....and don’t forget we would still get the failure payments.

What effect does this have on players like Baldock / Enda

CW has shown he is looking to replace them and in the end hasn’t replaced them. Bringing them in brings competition failing to bring them in publicly could have a negative effect.

Sure we will get some numbers in soon.

I‘m going to need it explaining to me who all these guys have signed that’s going to significantly improve them to the point whereby relegation is almost a certainty for us?
How are they all improving while currently signing next to no one and we’re massively falling away?
You can throw West Brom, Leeds and Fulham into the mix too.

You can analyse this is many ways. Post lockdown were the 13th best side in the league. That was with no fans and it seemingly is looking that way.

Some of those teams outperformed us post lockdown. Anchelotti being in and spending on players like James Rodriguez (the rumour) you would expect them to push forward

AV are in for everyone one of our players it seems.

We get one injury to a key player we can drop quickly as we don’t have the squad to not massively reduce quality.

We played a youngster CM at RWB in our first friendly. That shows you everything abkut our squad depth.

I think it's because he appears to be a player that we wanted, and now seems to be going elsewhere. Of course there are other players in every position, but if we keep missing out and you extrapolate that to the nth degree we end up with Sad Ken from the dog and duck.

Must be incredibly frustrating for Wilder.

Ignoring the fact they'll offer him stupid money too. Which if I'm honest, I'm glad we aren't doing.
