I mean the below is a fairly recent quote. I don’t think anyone denies that he probably has some professional admiration for us given our involvement in his development, leading to him coming back and watching his mates occasionally. But he’s not a fan of us – he’s a West Brom fan. That has a shirt from an ex West Brom keeper.

AARON Ramsdale revealed his admiration for opposite keeper Ben Foster and insisted: “It was great to share the pitch with him.”

The two stoppers were both left unbeaten during Cherries 0-0 draw at Watford on Saturday.

And having looked up to Foster during the former England man’s time at West Brom, Ramsdale admitted he had huge respect for the 36 year-old.

He said: “Fozzy made some great saves in the first half and it was great to share the pitch with him.

“Being a West Brom fan I watched him for a long, long time when he was there. The way he plays, the speed he plays at and being able to kick off both feet, I know his game inside and out.

“A few years ago, we played West Brom and he signed a shirt for me. He’s remembered ever since and he said ‘you’re a proper goalie, you can play out, you can kick it and you come for crosses.’

“Some of the saves he made on Saturday has probably earned them a point. The way I’ve kept my clean sheet probably might have earned us a point as well, along with the back four.

“It was great to chat to him and catch up. There are definitely things you try to take out of his game and implement into mine.”

Completely different quote to what I have seen where it mentions being brought up as a West Brom fan but after being at our club so long and with everything else he says his heart is with us so we will soon see wont we.

I'm not denying that he was a West Brom fan growing up, but it still doesn't mean that he'll never play for Villa. Other players have had allegiances and played for the rivals of the teams they supported growing up. Like I say, loyalty to something as abstract as a football club you supported growing up goes out of the window when someone offers you so much money that you can support yourself and your family for life.
