Hammond......Dean Hammond......he was vital

Henderson will sign, I'm fairly confident of that. Wilder won't wait though.

Agreed.

Henderson has consistently said he won't go back to man Utd unless he is no:1 - that isn't (IMHO) going to happen next season.

the loan fee and the wages are worth every penny.

For next season, it's better the deveil you know than the one you don't know - now is not the time to change our back 3 - we may need them next season more tha nthis.

The position of GK even more so, Hendo was proved in Championship and PL so we now have to pay the PL going rate for him or an other.

Not sure if Rambo was proved or shell shocked playing for Bournemouth

yes - 100%

We're playing with the big boys - we HAVE to pay big boys prices now - where we were and what we did 2 to 6 years ago is history.

The premier league is different from virtually any other "club" or business - we need a change of mindset - so do some of our fans.

Your goalkeeper is always your most important player.

Regardless now we have to set a deadline if Henderson is coming back on loan then great but it needs to be done and done now.

We only have just over a month till the new season kicks off, if we can't get Henderson back we need to move quickly and get a new keeper in before the pre-season games and get him integrated into the squad.

Maybe....just maybe we are looking to get Ramsdale or the Turkish fella to provide competition for Hendo? Two top keepers is very valuable, be like the days of Tracey and Kelly!
Maybe we can get one last season from Hendo and having the Turkish fella learning the ropes and pushing to make the shirt his own and definitely ready for the season after?
That’s what a BIG club would do...however I still don’t have us as a BIG club yet. Still have us down as a potential big club working our way there. Only issue I can see is if the season fee for Hendo is all his wages...new contract 120k a week would cost us £6m! Can’t see us paying that when you look at the top end, however we would be paying £40k...so it’s actually an extra £4m!
So add in the sale of Moore or Verrips...saving on their wages and it’s not too unrealistic when you are securing a prominent part of the team for another season and then beyond. Because no matter what happens this would be Hendos last season with us

I agree with you , in an ideal world.
But we don't hold the cards with Hendo + ManUtd/Chelsea can keep us guessing till 5 Oct.
I actually think the signing of WesF is quite significant.
To me it says that CW knows neither Moore nor Verrips is good enough to play in the PL , even for a short time.
But he would start the season with WesF + give himself an extra 4 weeks to grab a top goalie if Hendo isn't back by 12 Sept , which would be my deadline.
I suppose if our offers for Cakir or Rambo get accepted , we then have to make a decision.

Cough Beattie Flu Cough

That has to be the worst lie McCabe ever told by a mile and one that cost him a heck of a lot of support within our fan base.

If he had been honest with the fans and said look we don't have a pot to piss in there would have been no expectations, but to sell our best striker for peanuts and to lie and say he had flu was criminal and that is why so many so many lost all faith in him and turned against him.

Replacing him with Craig Beattie probably reinforced the fact that McCabe was a total cockwomble.

As an ex keeper meself (albeit at youth level), whose idols were Tracey, Kelly, Mel and Paddy, I've never really been entirely convinced by Hendo anyway. Defo won't be end of the world if he leaves. Wish him all the best, but we'll get by, and so will he

Over blown, teams go down due to not scoring enough. I do not see anyone blaming Ramsdale for Bournmouth going down. Though a good keeper makes a difference no doubt.I reckon Hendo was worthabout 5 or 6 points last year for us tops over a 'standard' keeper. After taking away the points he cost us. We need it sorting quick as the understanding between the back 6 takes time, which we dont have this year.
Ramsdale was there POTY. Basham was ours. Seems a good combo.
