Very pleased for him. He comes across as a very nice bloke, a good family man, in addition to being a very good footballer.

I was saying this to Petunia the other day, there are some players who look like they were just born to play football. It's the way they move, their sense of balance, the ability to have quick feet and change direction, they seem to glide across the pitch, not run, and they just make it look like effortless elegance. And I think he's one of those. I love seeing him play. And I'm so pleased for the lad how his career has turned around for him since signing for us. We're good for each other obviously.
 
Good effort lad, not to sure he’d have that accolade at another club after leaving Ipswich. In peak of his career at the Lane .............just like Ian Rush 😳

It's funny you say that, his unofficial nickname is The Irish Ian Rush
 
What a twilight period he is having.

Thinking he might have to drop to league one to get a game one minute.

Next minute, player of the year, promoted to the Prem, excelling in the Prem, scoring his first goals and now this.

Just goes to show if you have the talent and get your head down what can happen.
 
The archetypal Wilder signing. Plucked from relative obscurity, zero fee, refined to fit into a system but flexible enough to allow the evolution of both him and it. Multifaceted, intelligent, popular, skilled, and with the strength of character to play through what, to many strikers, could be a career defining, if not ending, drought. My favourite player of the last few years, and there's some serious competition there. An absolute pleasure and education to watch.
 
We’re so much better and play much more attractive football when he starts, not even arsed about his goal stats because most of the time he’s lingering around half way line starting attacks and linking up play to allow midfield runners to get in to the box, most of Fleck and Lundstrams goals have been when Didzy’s on the pitch.

Probably one of my favourite ever players to watch for us, well done Didzy richly deserved 🍀

Teddy Sherringham was an example of someone who seemed to make the game so simple.
 
Well done Didzy I'm really pleased for him.

Becoming POTY at International level at 32 when two years prior his future was uncertain shows what can be done.
 
Player gets a chance towards the end of his career, and grabs it with both hands 👍

He's a perfect example for younger players who may be concerned about where there careers are heading,to never stop striving to improve by hard work and taking the chances given to you.

Absolutely a great professional and role model.

I think it might be a bit late for me, but I take your point 🙂

It’s a fantastic accolade, from outside it must look very strange, a non-scoring striker getting that kind of award, but I bet there won’t be many Blades who argue he didn’t deserve it.

I'll miss him playing for RoI, a lot of the time he's the only entertaining player on the pitch.

Happy about it from a Sheffield United point of view though obviously.
 
I think that's a good decision by McGoldrick, he needs to look after himself & his career earning potential now.

I don't think any of our other players should be at that stage yet, although it amazes me that McBurnie & Burke enjoy going away for Scotland.
 
Lets hope his retirement works out like Jamie Vardy's and he gets even better for his club.
 
Think this was on the cards once they got knocked out of the play-offs - like Norwood for Norn Iron, I guess he might have held out a bit longer if there was a Championships on the horizon, but from a selfish perspective this is good Blades news
 



I wish all of our internationals would shun international games apart from major tournaments. Shit, pointless games with injuries galore.
