Is exactly how I feel about the club at the moment.

I'm glad Blackwell was booted, albeit far too long after he should have been and I'm also pleased Speed is being given a chance but I can’t build up any enthusiasm for United whatsoever at the moment, (I’ve been watching them for over 30 years) and it seems as though I am not alone. This is the lowest I have ever felt about my club, lower than half-way through last season when we were shouting for Blackwells head, lower than the division 3 relegation, lower than the Adrian Heath era.

The lack of at least one signing before the transfer window closed has been the final straw for me. Speed identified within a few days of taking the post that we lacked pace going forward, something that had been blatantly obvious for the last 2 years to the rest of us and yet we still don’t sign anyone......why? I know we will get the same excuses today, (wages, agents, yada, yada, blah, blah) but it’s worn too thin now.

A crowd of sub 20K for the first time in years rocked up to BDTBL on Saturday and watched a poor victory over a poor side who, let’s be honest, would have had at least a point with a bit more luck. McCabe and Birch sacked Blackwell citing, “we MUST be challenging for promotion” yet they are already expecting Speed, (who I am afraid is on a hiding to nothing) to perform miracles with a very weak and talentless squad. They had one chance to bring in a little bit of quality before the window shut, one chance to give the long suffering fans a little bit of hope that we have a bit of “ambition” and they blew it.

We will now rely, once again, on the loan market. Something that they swore wouldn’t happen again after last season.

Broken promises, broken dreams, a club in free-fall.

McCabe out.

UTB.

a) How on earth is this the lowest you've felt in 30 years? Genuinely? Do you not think it's case of you feeling quite low at the moment and not being able to remember how utterly abject and without direction we were around 15 years ago?

b) The lack of a signing is the final straw - christ it's not that bad. If you get so upset over such things, there's no point in carrying on with football in my opinion.

c) McCabe out. Who in? Come on. Losing a chairman is not the same as losing a manager y'know.

Disagree.

Lowest you've ever felt about your club?! Get a grip mate for christ's sake.

Agree with point b), there must be at least a dozen posters on here who have their *dramatic sigh* final straw about 5 or 6 times a season. SLING YER HOOK! :)

It's the lowest I have felt in 30 years Houso because back then we never pretended to be anything more than we actually were. We knew where we stood and we as fans knew what we were about, no delusions of fucking grandeur no owning foreign clubs, no property empire, no hotels, no spin, no bullshit. It was about the FOOTBALL CLUB and nowt else. Bloody hell, we used to think the Brearley/Woolhouse eras were bad!

The lack of signings didn't suprise me at all, it was just the final straw.

McCabe isn't interested in the Club, he's a money man but without the money.

Wait, because we have hope you feel at your lowest point?

Also, I'm sorry, but in the days of McDonald and even Carlos fucking Colombotti, we talked a bigger game that what McCabe does. Anyone seen those Serie A players that we've got coming in yet?

And that last sentence is so ridiculous I'm not even going to address it.

Love the last line Torrix, my old mucker - great stuff. Can I use it in future? Money man without the money - like it alot.

Only the very, very lucky can ride a property bubble for an entire career. His luck has run out and it has gone horribly wrong for him, unfortunately SUFC have been caught up in it.

Yep, he's skint Mic. He's worth sod all and I've got my in my wallet than him.

Will someone inform the Times Rich List please?

If only he'd consulted you beforehand, he'd have known not to ride the property bubble.

Christ.

He's looking for investment and has been for some time. Football clubs just aren't that saleable these days.

whats the crack with the other clubs chengdu blades and feverncos (however you spell it) if we have some part in those clubs why are we not getting some of there players or young prospects

Because they have none.

I'm talking relative. His dreams of a ridiculously cash rich retirement have evaporated on the Aussie stock market and quite understandably he will be seriously pissed off about it. The Tevez win was hugely important for him personally, we dared to hope it would act as a further parachute but it hasn't - certainly not on the football side.

That said, he is perfectly entitled to do what he wants with his company and I have always maintained that - the problem lies in the spin which we are fed every time he opens his gob.

So, he's not got a cash rich retirement now? He lost 40 million when his Valad share was at its lowest. That dropped him from 240 to 200 million. It's a big drop, but not a huge drop considering his continuing wealth.

McCabes got too be worried surely. hes using the club to promote his other ventures and his clubs slumping whats it say too other investors hes hoping to attract. sorry if i come across has stupid but i dont follow McCabes actions away from bl

Mic ,Torrix, with you all the way on this. There was once a time I wanted McCabe to be more forthcoming with regard to what was happening at the club. Now it doesn't bother me as it's difficult to believe anything he says. As a club we are treading water at best, and unless Speed turns out to be a magician or an investor comes along, things will only get worse.

why is it difficult to believe what he says ?....when has he lied ?

Without getting paranoid I was very disappointed that we didn't make any signings before the deadline!
Disappointed YES
Surprised NO
Speedo got everyones expectations up when he alluded to making one or two permanent signings before the deadline.
But No, we are yet again relying on loan players to make up the numbers.
Message to Messrs McCabe and Birch - Don't be surprised by sub 20,000 gates get used to them, you cannot continue to lie to the fans about promotion ambitions
You cannot continue to lie, lie, and lie again and get away with it!
I have had phone calls, letters, and even Speedo is writing to the stay aways to beg support - You lied at the forum Mr McCabe, you lied about Beattie, you lied about Tevez money
Peaple are calling your bluff
Good luck Speedo, you will need it working for those w***kers!!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

:gallop:

For instance when he told us Beattie was not for sale and he would only be sold if it was for the benefit of the club. Within a few hours he was gone.

Was that to the benefit of the club or not?

What lies where these ? When did he lie about Beattie or Tevez ? People often misquote what McCabe said in his RS interview about Beattie and as for tevez...where has that some from ?

What are they trying to get away with ?

With Beattie it is likely we would have been promoted so of course it didn't benefit the club. Beattie's high wages would have been covered 10 times over had we gone up.
