I'm still waiting for Bob to come back with his 'sponsorship deals'.

I suspect he might mention the names GAC Logistics, Malta Tourism Board, 188Bet and Molson Coors.

And I could come back with loads of other sponsorships which have nothing to do with our wonderfully fruitful family of clubs but that we've somehow managed to obtain anyway.
I could equally probably check what was actually said when we signed up to all these fabulous deals and what we've actually achieved in terms of the financial position of the club - and in terms of all those great players we've picked up.

You could indeed, but that doesn't change the fact that key figures in all of these deals happen to mention our "Global Network", rather than just their signs looking nice in the ground :)

So what we need then, is some sort of definative figure the deals have realised, then compare it to sponsorships raised by similar sized "non Global" clubs. How about Stoke, WBA, Wolves or Brum?;)

You'll be eating your words when you're sat in the Hezbollah stand and buy your RPG Pie from an AK-toting loony at the Islamic Jihad Pie Kiosk.

No, I'll be eating the pie....

Aye, I reckon it's made all the difference. Who could possibly not sponsor a club that has links with a Syrian team or an Australian team, links that no-one in the world takes a blind bit of notice of other than a small - and dwindling - number of fans of an average Championship football club.
It may be handy for opening doors for other business opportunities though. Who knows, maybe someone has the lowdown on McCabe's property developments in China, Hungary etc.

Or possibly one in China or perhaps the "biggest" and most successful team in Hungary?

I imagine linking up with a bloke who has fingers in many pies throughout the world is a bad thing really, I don't think they'll have seen it as a positive at all.

Thats probably why they mentioned it, to throw us off the scent of the real reason ;)

Who'd want to sponsor an international "group" of football clubs, when you could just have your name on the Leppings Lane end instead? I mean, there's a chance your logo might end up in the Star!

I've just done a Google Image search, and some of those camel pies look mighty fine. Mind you, compared to Peter's Pie even a whole unpeeled live camel looks attractive.

Even Kevin McCabe likes Syrian pies.....

Aye, with those kind of mega-sponsorship deals - deals which couldn't possibly have been achieved like every other club in the country does - there's no way we could be £50m in debt.
I'd hazard a guess that paying for Chengdu has probably cost more than most, if not all, the sponsorship put together.

We're the first team outside the top flight to get 188bet on board. They also partner Chelsea, Villa, Liverpool, Everton and paid a "lucrative" sum for becoming Wigan's shirt sponsor.

Incidently, they happen to have a significant presence in Asia, with the vast majority of it's profits coming from that area.

Perhaps 188Bet made enough out of Chengdu's activities to more than cover a little extra sponsorship? :D

Still, we'll see in the accounts what the profit/loss is, referencing both sponsorship income and expenditure on Chengdu by SUFC.

Do you think we've been throwing money at them since the restructuring lenners?

Given the current climate I would think we would want to distance ourselves from anything to do with betting! Still, never look a gift horse in the mouth eh:rolleyes:

lenners could think the capital of Peru is Pontefract, and if he does, who are we mere mortals to argue? You're destined to lose your argument Foxy, because the word of lenners is law, and the universe bends itself around his word accordingly. How dare you disagree with the self-appointed oracle? You may as well argue against gravity, or cheese.

at this moment in time, its all a load of bollox for utd.when will we see ANY beneficial evidence that we will coup any rewards from any of the teams we are funding.where are any players that we could try out?its all a waste of friggin time.

Who are we currently funding?

Plus the recent sponorship deals all mentioned the fact that we have a family of clubs therefore a benefit.

Me n missus Sheep got engaged by the banks of the River Euphrates in Syria. Some of the friendliest people in the world (well they were 15 years ago!) and one of the finest countries we ever visited. :)
