Players we need to move on...

Right, now the season is finished (and what a fucking season it's been), with a quick turnaround, who do we think we need to move on. Obviously Leon, Kieron Freeman, and Jags are going, but I'd be looking to get rid of the following others...

Zivkovic (Don't try to sign)
Luke Freeman (hardly had a look in, don't think Chris rates him now).
Billy (what a player he's been, but no one beats father time).
Robinson (Just can't see where he fits into our system)
Moore (great servant, just not good enough for this level).
Verrips (if Moore gets on the bench before him, that's a worrying sign).

A big summer ahead in the transfer window. Going to need 2 or 3 first teamers, and 3 or 4 squad players. Let's hope we can pull a few rabbits out of the hat!!

I'd say a GK, RCB, RWB and possibly a MF
Then one in one out in terms of another MF, probably two in two out in terms of FWs.
Two of the above will be loans of course. Just hope if we sell a striker and a midfielder we can raise some cash to get the quality we need. So I imagine it'll be Moose and Robinson for sale and either Lunny or Luke Freeman, possibly both. No point in selling if it doesn't get enough money to reinvest and free up some wage budget though.

I'd still keep Billy despite todays performance even though he will be 4th or 5th choice striker.

I would still like to see us accommodate Freeman. I think project restart has proved we need a CAM to help us create more in front of goal.

Our form has been hit and miss during project restart. I'd hope it would make some clubs hesitant about taking a gamble on our players just yet.

We've progressed quickly and some players get left behind, and some frankly aren't good enough. We need a squad with genuine alternatives so each position could have 2 players who could play without weakening, and options on the bench which offer something different or can change a a game.

For me we lose

K Freeman
Rodwell

L Freeman

C Robinson
Zivkovic

This leaves us with a fair bit of recruitment!

GK - New Signing / Foderingham / Eastwood?
RWB - Baldock / New signing
LWB - Stevens / New signing
RCB - Bash / New signing
CB - Egan / New signing
LCB - JOC / Robinson
DMC - Berge / Norwood
LCM - Fleck / New signing? / Osborn
RCM - New Signing / New Signing?
FWD - Oli / McG
Fwd - New Signing / Mousset / Sharp

Think we need a minimum of 3 into the first team, and the other signings to be signed as competing for a place rather than back-up. The likes of Robinson, Freeman and Osborn have been decent enough and generally done well when called upon - but clearly signed as back-up.

Take the WBs as an example, both Baldock and Stevens have been great majority of the season but we don't have players who put their place in the team at risk. We need to get out of the mindset of signing backup players and sign first team contenders. So either they come in and improve the first eleven or put a rocket up their counterpart. I know this is a lot easier said than done (& also probably more expensive!) but its where we should be aiming
