Who is the greatest, Henderson or Kelly?

Henderson`s record , is bette , how else can you Judge near 30 year gap .

Alan Kelly no question.
Tracey was streets ahead. The year we came up from the championship? I remember Leicester at home, he saved four one on one’s! The year after he made the England squad. People have short memories. The fact that he also took the piss out of the pigs so much, when Dane broke the deadlock at the Lane, they reported him and Brads to the league. Quality.

Both were very good but Kelly was better imo, I thought that back then and I still do along with many others.

I know this thread is about just 2 of our 'keepers, but there are others who deserve a mention. Our recent history pre Henderson has not been a beacon of good goalkeeping, but we have been lucky to have some very good 'keepers over time.
Hodgy was the 1st I saw for the last 3 years of his playing career, & despite some errors appearing in his last season he was absolute class & rightly a legend here. His replacement, John Hope, had the impossible task of following Hodgy, but during our promotion season he looked like he could pull it off, his performances were just as important as our more famous players like TC, Woody etc, but sadly injuries & loss of confidence meant that was not to be. Tom McCallister was the next & again was very promising, until the twat that is Rodney Marsh put paid to that.
When Tracey & Kelly were here I would say they were both unlucky that they were here at the same time as they were both superb; I thought Kelly was the better organiser & Tracey the better shot stopper, but both were capable of brilliance, but out of the 2 I would go with Tracey.
Henderson is very good, of that there is no doubt, but he is still very young & at the start of his career. I think he will go on to prove the better 'keeper in the long run, but I don't think he is quite there yet.
I see a mention for Keith Waugh above, & although I did rate him he wasn't in the class of the above mentioned players, but one thing he was fantastic at was slowing the game down, helped by the back pass rule of the time. Whenever we were under pressure in a game we simply passed the ball back to him & he kept it long enough to go for a cup of tea, really took the sting out of any pressure, so it showed an astute tactical grasp of the game.

Kelly, but Henderson will become a better and more successful player.

Alan Kelly all day long. Tracey isn’t far behind but I’m shocked at anyone who thinks Tracey was streets ahead of Kelly, shocked!

As for Henderson, only time will tell, he hasn’t done enough yet to be in the same league as Kelly and Tracey in terms of greatness at our club, although his save against Norwich away was one of the best saves I’ve seen live.

McAllister, although short lived, was best, for me, by a country mile. Even, dare I say (puts tin hat on and looks for somewhere to hide), better than Hodgy!
Don't have much memory of Hodgy really. McA was damn good even by Scottish GK standards.
Ned before Tracey, only just though. Hendo could be up there with the best.

I'm really surprised you put Tracey above Kelly. Couldn't disagree with you more .
For once.
Remember Kelly came in just as Tracey was starting to be affected by injuries and was probably just passed his peak. Those first 3 years under Bassett, Tracey was outstanding and one of the best keepers in the top league that 1st season after the 2nd promotion

All abart opinions , hope I didn't upset Silent earlier , was only being light hearted ....

Still preferred Kelly mind.
