The owners said after promotion that they wanted a top 5 Premier League finish in 3 years.
They were laughed at by the 'pundits'.....And then they won the league.
Apparently it was a 'fluke' and 'out of nowhere', when actually it was all part of the plan the owners had in place.

They now want to become a regular top 4 side. They don't want to turn the 'big 6' into the 'big 7', they want to gatecrash the entire thing.

We have the players to do that and the finances, just not the manager.

You take offence to pundits who claim Sheffield United 'on paper' should have been relegated this season.

Leicester should have had top 4 secure before lockdown.
Only Liverpool/Man City have a better 11, and Man United are now 3rd since Fernandes has arrived.....That leaves Leicester as 3rd/4th over 38 games.


Rodgers, if he doesn't clinch 4th, will be viewed by our fans and owners as a failure.
The owners told him they expected 4th, he is not going to deliver that.

He still might get you 4th. But he is good at getting teams to collapse in the last few games of the season. Remember Liverpool 2014?? Wasnt Gerrard’s slip that lost the title,was that twat Rodgers playing Mignolet in goal every game. His incompetence cost me a few quid by Liverpool not winning the title. So yes,Brendan Rodgers is a twat. Rant over.

I'm not a Leicester fan so I respect your opinion of your own club, but I confess I am slightly surprised at how negative your opinion is of Rogers.

How did you feel for the first half of the season when you were (at least to my eyes) playing some fantastic football and sweeping teams aside? Did you have reservations even then or has it come about only recently? If so, I can fully understand how excruciating it is to have the prize of Champions League potentially ripped from your grasp through poor management, so I absolutely understand the frustration. However, is it not also possible that you will come through this bad patch and be firing again next season? Or are you more pessimistic and think that a change is needed?

I'm not a Leicester fan so I respect your opinion of your own club, but I confess I am slightly surprised at how negative your opinion is of Rogers.

How did you feel for the first half of the season when you were (at least to my eyes) playing some fantastic football and sweeping teams aside? Did you have reservations even then or has it come about only recently? If so, I can fully understand how excruciating it is to have the prize of Champions League potentially ripped from your grasp through poor management, so I absolutely understand the frustration. However, is it not also possible that you will come through this bad patch and be firing again next season? Or are you more pessimistic and think that a change is needed?

My problem is that the weaknesses of Rodgers at Liverpool is still showing again this season, when it's clear he hasn't progressed.

It's still all about him, as proved again today. When he tried to get involved in the game, when he didn't need to.
Then, he let Schmeichel front up and take the blame for his mistake, but didn't once mention that he got it wrong at half time when he changed to a system we have never played before, despite Bournemouth not crossing the half way line in the first 45 minutes.....Instead he was questioning the 'character' of our players. Now i'm not sure if he is talking about Schmeichel/Vardy who are clearly not 'bottlers' the way they handled the titled win (with ease), or whether he is talking about the youngsters in the side, again, targeting the kids is not going to do them any favors.

He still struggles against sides he should beat because he overcomplicates everything.

I don't want him in charge, when it's clear he has not progressed, and whilst there are really not that many other jobs out there as appealing as the Leicester one right now.
Excellent young talent and finances which can get us into that top 4. I think some of the comments on here about Leicester are not completely privy to the financial backing we have. I'm not just talking about the kind Villa have had this season either, they're just finishing building a £100 million new training complex, planning to extend the ground, turn the ground into a complex with hotels and pump as much into the club financially as FFP will allow.

We've been incredibly lucky with our owners, no doubt about that.
And for them more than anyone, I want a manager in place who can give them what they want......I don't believe Rodgers can.

Well it seems like a lifetime ago since I posted in here prior to our win at Bramall Lane, fair to see a lot has happened on and off the pitch since then!

May I be the next in a very long line to say congratulations on your incredible season. I didn't think you'd struggle as much as many of the pundits did, no team blows away the Championship like that and then drops like a stone (unless they do a Fulham and buy a ridiculous amount of over-hyped talent and replace what made them successful, of course), but I certainly didn't see you challenging for Europe and picking up some of the results that you have done.

As for ourselves, I'd have bitten your hand off if you'd offer us the chance to be just a point off the top 4 and 2 points off third (presuming Man Utd win later) with 3 games to go, but having been second for a short time and third for a long time, it naturally seems like a huge disappointment. I'm not entirely sure what's happened to us. We were of course punching above our weight and it's natural that teams like Man Utd will eventually rise again, particularly when they can go out and spend £50m in January whilst we pick up a clogger of a centre half on loan, but we seem to have just lost our spark and bottle. I think the only thing that will keep us in the top 6 now is our teams throwing away points. It's not out of the question that Man Utd, Spurs, yourselves and Wolves all overtake us in the final three games (particularly as we play 3 of the immediate 4 teams below us. Should that happen then I really fear for next season, we are seemingly a confidence team who ride waves of both success and failure to the extreme. With Chelsea playing both Liverpool and and Wolves then we may in theory only need 4/5 points to qualify for the top 4, but I don't even see where we get 1 at this moment in time.

Not looking forward to Thursday's game at all and I fully expect you to be fitter, stronger and just better in every department. Having a minimum of Ricardo and Soyuncu missing, plus potentially Albrighton, Chilwell and Maddison too doesn't improve my mood anymore in that respect! TI think our only hope is that you have an off day and Vardy is fired up again. Anyway, enjoy the ride!

Who knows what will happen in the game but have to say, that Bennett transfer has to be one of the oddest of the season.

I watched him play in the Championship for Wolves and he was alright, nothing special but not a liability, but it's more the fact that a team chasing Champions League loaned an unwanted player from a team below them rather than Bennett himself.
