Now that blackwell has gone and hopefully the hoofball has gone with him, i hope that Speed will actually get us playing some coherent football. I made a point several days ago about us being too short, especially in the left wing department. This was criticised by many on here with people saying blackwell would be going 451, we dont need out and out wingers as the left wing would be used for defensive approach when going attacking down the right. Now clearly this doesnt work (saturday says it all really)
i hate 451, its negative and doesnt work in this division unless you have really attack minded centre mids (monty and quinn shouldnt be in the same side, ever!). we need 442, good quick wingers, a battler and a flair player in the middle with bogdanovic and cresswell upfront, cresswell will do all the chasing and boggy for the tap ins and headers from the good deliverys on the wing.
The left side is our massive weakness, taylor is without doubt one of the worst footballers i have seen and as i keep saying we have no recognised left winger. Speed will want to bring a couple of people in so he can stamp his own personality into the team, and i hope to god he does, because saturday was the worst home performance i have seen in years.
im happy with the appointment of speed, and i hope we can all give him a chance and get behind him. weve got what we wanted, blackwell has gone, lets give speed time and push on from there!
