Lampard his managerial team are poor he as a manager has had it given to him on a plate Not much experience tactically naive and motivational non existent

Chris and his managerial team have worked their way up. Chris learnt his trade but has a knowledge of the game that puts managers like Lampard to shame. Tactically clever Motivational exceptional, experience immense.
Chris Wilder is probably the best manager anywhere at the moment AND he’s our manager AND he’s a Blade

True dat ☝🏼☝🏼

Wise master vs up and coming tonight. That’s not a slight on Lampard, he’s still learning. He does have the advantage of having the luxury of working with better players, but that’s not always going to guarantee success.

Everything Wilder and the backroom staff work on comes from years of experience. We also have a very close squad, a defined culture and no unrealistic pressures from above.

Chelsea need 3 pts to stay above us, no problems.
Man U are winning for fun suddenly.
Leicester are shite atm but only need 4 pts to stay above us...
Bournemouth, Blades, Spurs, Man U.

Did anyone screenshot Lampard after the third went in? Sky cameras switched to him and that reaction was absolutely priceless.

I don't know why people keep having a go at Lampard. He's playing young English players and doing well with it. If England are ever going to win anything the fact young Chelsea lads are being given a chance will be a huge factor.
Maybe cause they were fiddling stuff and he inheirited a transfer ban.... be interested to see how many English players survive once they can hoover up world elite....

I like Frank and as much as I hate the former big name players walking straight into a plum job, I think he has done well at Chelsea this year. He has promoted youth, especially British players. Time will tell if this is because of the transfer embargo or not, He was given a tactical arse kicking by Wilder and Knill today and there's no denying it.

Rational view
I’m sure CW made many mistakes as a young manager, but he did it the hard way in the lower leagues without the watching world, on probably a couple of hundred quid a week
Entitled Frank is making mistakes in front of the watching world
Personally I think he will be a good manager, respect for his honest assessment of the game today, didn’t shy away from what we all saw, unlike Mourinho,
That said he was taught a lesson by Sir Chris, we really do need to appreciate what we have here
And to all those who were questioning us after the first few games back after the restart, you never stop learning, CW has proved that as we now have our Blades back
Before beefing the next time we drop a few points, gi thi head a wobble.

While I definitely don’t think Lampard is a great manager, I think people need to not let today’s result cloud what’s otherwise been a fairly successful season for Chelsea. Few pundits had them finishing top 4 this season – indeed plenty were sceptical that the likes of Mount & Abraham would make an impact. So from that perspective, Lampard has exceeded expectations. We made them look very ordinary today, but they made other teams look ordinary more often over the course of the season.

He's done an okay job given the restrictions Chelsea have had an losing Kante for a lot of the season. An okay job, not great, not bad. I get that people have a bit of a resentment to him walking into high profile jobs but that's hardly new to football.

I actually started to like him a bit more after our fans started singing "Shit Steven Gerrard" and he responded with a smile and a laugh.

Some betting firms only had us at 5 to 1 to beat chelsea
Bournemouth are alright but they ain't no Sheffield United.
(Bugger me that point on the first day seems a lost opportunity now.)

Lampard is out of his depth.

He was a fool to take the Chelsea job, and should have the humility to realise you need to earn your corn, and get out there and earn the right to those jobs.

Im expecting Chelsea to move him on soon and get a big name in to rebuild the squad at great expense. They have used him to manage the English youngsters and see them through their transfer ban

Could say if the goal at Villa counted we could have gone level on points not 2 behind
Did a quick calculation earlier of the outright travesties we've endured so far (it's not comprehensive) but those 2 pts, 2 from Lundstrams offside toe from 6 phases prior to a goal at Spurs and the point from Leicester we were robbed of (god I hope we destroy those wankers in a way that makes Chelsea look like a picnic), we'd be right in the thick of it and on form.

Lampard is in over his head currently but if they give him time he very well may end up being a very good manager. He's got the basis of a fantastic side and good players arriving.

i cant disagree more, for an inexperienced manager to have done what he’s done with Chelsea this year is admirable, yeah he‘s not come through the ranks but he's dealt with the cards he’s had andplayed slot of young players. I think lot of this vitriol is unfounded and idiotic.

I've previously said that Lampard is his generations Mark Hughes, he'd get a couple of good gigs but fall down and down and end up a Chelsea ambassador, but I think he will turn out to be a good manager.

He's intelligent, but wet behind the ears, he's played what he's had to play this season and done well mostly, don't think he'll give two shits like Wilder about turfing out some of the dross and generally not good enough in his squad which is a good thing in a manager, and with Abramovich both barrels backing he'll have Chelsea very much top 4 next season.

Tactically weak though, can pick a good team and win games, but struggles when his initial plan doesn't come off. That'll cost him his job if he doesn't get better.

I like him. I hate the media coverage of him but he didn’t ask for the hype that has surrounded his managerial career and you can hardly blame the guy for taking advantage of the benefits of a successful playing career. I don’t think he’s a great manager by any means—at least not yet. But he’s done a bit better than I expected at Chelsea so far and seems like the type who is willing to learn and improve.
