Sharp has been here 3 times and has scored more goals than Mcburnie and Moussett ever have and probably ever will, and in securing his services on those 3 occasions has in all still cost less than eather.
Mcgoldrick was free, and has been great for us, maybe not the best striker, but he is our best link up player.

Moussett and Mcburnie have cost big money, for United, an obscene amount of money, and although they might be for the future, they only show there worth occasionally.
If they put the effort into playing, that they do into showing off, they might not get as much negative attention, but it's time for them to both step up if they want to be taken seriously, at 24 they should be full of energy and enthusiasm, but you get more from Sharp and Dizdy, and for the price paid, I know which 2 I'd be starting if only from a common sense point of view.

I'm not judging Moussett on his goals, I'm judging him on his performance, he doesn't look bothered, can't be arsed, since the bereavement in his life, he looks very unfit, and like he couldn't give a toss.
As for Mcburnie, today has been one of his best performances for us, but he needs to sharpen up and shoot more and take his chances.

This sentence is for me the root of the problem some fans have with buying players. £18m & £10m are not obscene amounts of money for us, or anyone else in the Premier League, it is scrapping the bottom of the barrel bargain basement money, even more so for strikers. We simply cannot judge our players performances based on how much they cost & create an imaginary sliding scale of how good or bad they have been. We should be looking at it from the opposite angle, a new player coming into the team is just 1 part of 11 players, therefore the other 10 should be helping that player how to integrate, not just the coaching staff. The lack of good attacking play from us recently has shown that they are not doing much to help them, long punts up field into the channels are not conducive to our normal style of play & are next to useless in terms of helping them settle into the side. It is a huge collective effort that is required to get a new player up to speed, so to just blame the new player if he is slow to do so is missing the point in my opinion.

It's really not. If little Sheffield United (or more correctly their fans), don't want to spend the prices of Premier League footballers, why try & get there in the first place?
It doesn't matter that we are not used to seeing us spend that sort of money, it is just another way of exposing how poor we have been in recent years, the fact that our record signing until this year was £4m is shocking really. Your view on how much players cost sadly aligns you with McCabe, he actively stopped us spending for years & if he had won the court battle we would be back in the Championship by now.
Pay peanuts, get lower league players, not saying I like it but it is true.

Look mate it is a debate & I don't mind if your view is different to mine, but I agree with your second sentence & is exactly the point I was making.
Your first comment I do question though, we did have the money to spend through making it to the Premier League, evidenced by the fact we spend quite a chunk of it on 3 players. We obviously couldn't spend like that when we were in the lower leagues, but spending what we spent was small change compared to the teams we are competing against this season. You cut your cloth accordingly is what I am saying.

I also agree with cutting the cloth, but we're talking about United, and were not comparing our budget with others in the division!, that's nonsense, we can't compete with probably most teams in the prem, plus, we need money to purchase the ground, training complex, hotel etc etc, I think the Prince did well to allow Wilder the amount he did, and now Wilder is fishing in a different pond, as probably all our staff involved in the recruitment of players are, I believe they bought players they hoped would do a job, and to an extent they have, but they're going to need to do better next season.
Your correct that this is a forum and we all have different views, so you should expect others to lodge an argument against your beliefs, especially if they see things differently.
