I like Hendo he’s a great keeper but maybe we need to make a decision so do we buy him (can we afford him) or continue to hope that Man Ure look favourably on our request for another seasons loan

Do we say to Hendo we want you permanently and try to buy him or not because sooner or later they will not renew any loan and maybe Hendo would sign for us, who knows.

So we start looking elsewhere or not

Thoughts

As good as a player he is, if we’ve not got the resources to buy him (let’s be realistic Man Utd will put a ridiculous price tag on him) we should look elsewhere in the market. No point in developing someone else’s player for 3 seasons when his goal is to leave us and be Man Utd’s No1.

It depends on who is available at a price we can afford. Ideally we get a permanent keeper but we can’t afford £70m for one like the big six pay. So, if we can find one we can afford and who’s decent, get him. Otherwise we’ll just have to kick the can down the road for another season.

Man U aren’t selling him no matter what, if he can convince them to let him come back then great

Can we find a better keeper than Moore who would be prepared to sit on the bench behind Henderson ?

The sticking point will be to convince them to pay a large chunk of his wages. Given his current standing, I every much doubt that.

No, same as we can’t get a good PL defender to sit on the bench whilst we play JOC or Egan. Decent PL players aren’t prepared to sit on our bench for £30k a week.

True though I do think that Ole is more of a players manager than a manager manager if that makes sense lol so maybe Deano stressing the point that a year on bench will harm his Euro chances may be enough to get Ole to go in a bat for him when those in charge decide

Would love Hendo to stay for another year.
Yes we are developing him for someone else, but he’s also saving us week after week so it’s a win-win
Failing that I’d take Ramsdale, Heston or Foster if any got relegated, but not that cunt Krul, would rather have Rick Allen in’t net

If we can't keep Hendo for another year then I would really like to see more of Verrips and I wouldn't be totally against us taking Ramsdale back.

What you have to remember is that he wasn't playing for Manchester United when we signed him, hed never played higher than league 1, we signed him from Shrewsbury town, unless you're saying that he's a one a million keeper there is a player who is either equal or better that's not going to cost anywhere near 70million, you also have to think that he would be playing for England now if his distribution was as good as pickfords

Once again the Championship Manager players are out in force...

Conservative estimates are that Henderson is a £50m player. So how do you propose we nail him down? Blow one entire season's transfer budget on a GK?

Not a terrible idea to be honest.

In theory no. But if we've learnt one thing since the restart, it's that we need (much) more firepower up top and much better squad depth in CM and CB. Not sure spunking £50m on Deano is going to address that!!

Well I'm sure there were/are some players on a free who could help, Hendo will stop us conceding....

Mmm, at the risk of getting drawn into an argument about Henderson's abilities - he didn't stop us conceding 3 at Newcastle...

A great GK would help no doubt - but bit like lipstick on a pig if he's got Jagielka and Robinson in the defence in front of him...

Oh I agree entirely, the recruitment needs looking at. Point I was making would rather spend 50 on Hendo than 22 and 20 and 5 on Berge McBurnie and Freeman.

In hindsight yes, definitely.

However, playing devils advocate for a minute - how many points has McBurnie won us Vrs how many has Deano saved us?

I honestly don't know but my rough guess would be McBurnie is slightly ahead despite not showing anything the calibre...

It's not an option. He's already made it very clear he wants to be Man Utd's long-term keeper and be England no.1. If we get one more season out of him we will be very lucky, especially given DDG's present form and the pressure he's under.

Foster has just signed a new deal at Watford. Krul, for me, wouldn't be a bad idea for a year if we can't get who we want. Ramsdale would have to be a great option, not just now, but long-term.

I know it feels a bit Bladey Bladey but we really should be after Ramsdale. Im hoping Bournemouth go down otherwise it might be difficult. He was on the verge of an England call up according to the papers and even though hed cost a lot hed be worth it.

Talking about goalkeeper fees ive never understood why they aren't on a par with centre forwards. They ate equally important and more importantly last a lot long. If u sign an early 20s keeper you've potentially got 15 years out of them

So yes Hendo is out of our reach but spending 20m on Ramsdalenor the Turkish International shouldn't be out of our reach

Given the new financial reality I think Henderson is now beyond our means. We seem to have Turkish irons in the fire, but expectations all round regarding transfers and fees will have to be drastically adjusted in a downward direction.

Some reight bargains in Turkey, 200 superkings £17.

If Man Utd aren't willing to sell him on a permanent, or we cannot afford him, I think we need to go and get someone permanent. It's a huge risk continually relying on the loan market for a number 1 keeper and in Dean's case, means we have him unavailable for two games a season. Next season will be our 4th in a row with no permanent number 1.

Not Krul, he's a bit of dick.
