A couple of games to find his feet and be solid and hopefully the forward play will come. We lost a lot of shape on the left last night because Fleck wasn’t playing, he brings JOC and Stevens into the game. Lundstram, as a right footer can’t be expected to do the same. I think with Fleck in LM there’s no reason why we can’t use Robinson the same as JOC. He won’t be as good but Cranie wasn’t as good as Bash and still did well.

Robinson got forward well in the cup game against Reading and helped setup the goal. He may have been told not to get as forward as much for the match last night.

He's more of a left back that can play centre half and o connel was just a left sided centre back whos game developed into the role and system with good coaching

15 months ago an injury in that position meant Marvin Johnson coming into the team. With Osborn and Robinson we are much stronger on that side of the pitch .

I've said similar before, think it's good for fan connection and player connection, and having little groups, like the Irish lads and the scousers must help bonding and atmosphere in training, bit of ribbing from the Irish lads to the Scousers etc, like a lads holiday.

Not saying Cranie is a Premier league player. But he's better than Robinson

Cranie would have played on the right side of a back three. Better player but not the answer to this problem.

Robinson is 'one-game' back-up option at best on his last three showings but he's been no worse than most of the other regular players (imo). He certainly hasn't been helped by the three incompetent displays that Enda has put in just in front of him. Osborne deserves a game on Sunday in that left wing-back role if I were picking the team (which I'm not )

Realistically Robinson is the best we could probably hope for under the circumstances.

Robinson did get forward but the link up play between him and Stevens is not there yet. Also, he isn't quite as a good as JOC defensively but I do think he is a big improvement on Bryan though. He has a decent cross field ping, can tackle a bit but its in the air that I think he struggles most.

That said we may have to put Stevens there til Robinson gets more used to the system.

Maybe, Cranie certainly showed more determination but was playing in a side that was on a roll, where as Robinson stepped into a side that after a lay off and disjointed, flopped miserably showing little ability and fight.

Very true. I might be being harsh on Robinson but it has certainly looked a fair distance beyond his abilities so far

He's fine as a back-up as long as he's not a back-up who we have to rely on if JOC gets injured.

Not really being harsh, nice to discus these things, but really and I think you'll agree we should be looking for better than both but that's another story.

Jack Robinson was another of Wilder’s bizarre signings. There was absolutely nothing in his career to suggest he could make the step up to the Prem.
