Here's one repeatable though.... Back in the day when MacPhail and Kenworthy were not only our central defensive duo but bosom pals too....
They were also pally with a lad who played with my Saturday team and during the summer we often entered various 5 a side tournaments around south yorks to keep in touch and fit etc...
One particular event down in Ecclesfield Park always drew some of the better teams in both Saturday and Sunday football...
So, as usual we entered, hoping to go far as we usually did. The 7or 8 of us turns up for the day long event and the lad who was mates with JM & TK was in the squad, except that he drags his two pro mates with him and announces they wanted to play!
The rest of us weren't happy and after a "healthy" debate in which TK & JM weren't invited, we relented..... But not before TK had decided it wasn't worth the risk for a multitude of reasons as you can imagine!
However, MacPhails ego got the better of him and he wanted to play.
In the first game of the round robin part of the tournament we played Manchester Villa, who were a decent young team of lads with some good individuals.
MacPhail, who we played under the pseudonym of John McBride (pathetic eh!), thought he could stroll around like a Billy big time and still stand out, except.... He constantly got turned inside out by this small skilful kid who ended up megging him and left him on his arse.
MacPhail was incensed and next opportunity viciously fouled the lad and was rightly sent off....
We drew the game eventually and afterwards the organisers took our manager to one side and told him they knew who MacPhail was and if we played him or TK again, we'd (rightly) be thrown out...
We agreed that they should be here to watch as they should have been and they couldn't play again
They fucked off home straight away with tails between legs and any respect I had for them as players was somewhat diluted from then on.

I met one of our ex-players when I was working from home in about 2005. He came round to do some PAT testing on my company's IT stuff. I didn't recognise him at all. I saw him looking at my framed and signed 2003 team shirt and he asked what a Blade was doing, living in Leeds so I told him the story. He told me played for us in the 80s but he had much more hair then so I didn't recognise him. When he told me who he was we got chatting. It was as said above, 10 minutes work, 2 hours gassing all things Blades and boy did he tell me some stories.
Unfortunately, he swore me to secrecy both in regards to his name and what he had told me.
Sorry.
Now then, Don Givens. I spoke to him often, played golf with him and was God parent to one of his girls.
Nah - you lot have been so nasty to him I won't bother.
Same as with Neill Collins who I'm still in touch with
Not a Blade I did once speak to Peter Ridsdale in the changing room at the David Lloyd club in Leeds. He came in in his suit and got the keks off first to change, as you do, and I had to keep a straight face whilst talking to him as he was wearing the most outrageous pair of multi-coloured polka dot boxers

I was wondering why someone would go to such lengths to justify a minor point in a tale from almost 40 years ago, when they weren't even there. Quite bizarre.
It crossed my mind you were TK or JM, but you're not.
But I kinda realise who you maybe are though and hats off to you for the stout defence of him.
It was what I witnessed, my take. He probably doesn't even recall it.

He's quite secretive regarding his time in Sheffield he loves Sheffield and the people but doesn't speak much regarding his time there he loves the club keeps in touch with a few players loves what's happening at the moment he just says it's there time found a couple of his shirts recently he forgot he had It made him smile

I was in the Coke advert with a number of other Blades on here and there was a rumour Brian Deane was coming in for it. It was quickly quashed but then sure enough, in he walks.
He humbly shook everyone’s hands and chatted with everyone between takes. He was also more than happy to be mobbed by us all during the filming part. He was in a bit of a hurry to get off afterwards but posed for selfies with everyone. Thoroughly nice chap. Smaller than I thought he’d be, though still a big guy.
He was just very humble and quite shy really, despite everyone being in awe. Can’t really speak highly enough of him.
