Anyway, well worth a listen. Sounds like theres more on the way by what Walker said. Wonder if they’re going to rebrand and merge with the other podcast they had started doing?

His attitude, professionalism and the way he talked about helping his team mates in training (especially Egan) who were playing in his position, should be an example to all in the game.
Get him back in a coaching capacity when he hangs up his boots .

Says on the official site that this new podcast is because the One of Our Own podcast format and filming location mean they can't do it for a while, but it'll be back it sounds like when conditions allow.

It’s impressive how a bloke who played relatively few games, and in an unsexy position, is so universally well thought of.

No idea if he’s manager or coach material, but he’s the sort of bloke employers would kill for.

As has been said before, the toughest part of us getting promoted was waving goodbye to the likes of Stears, top, top lad. Great interview, really enjoyed that.

A really nice guy is Stearman. Grounded, almost matter of fact, and talked very respectfully about Wilder, which doesn't surprise me as I get the impression that Wilder's a man who'll give back what he gets.

Having guys like Stears in the dressing room must be such a force for good, so should younger, less experienced players seem to be on the verge of going off the rails people like Stearman are worth their weight in gold.

Decent listen although an hour almost isn't long enough to cover all the main talking points in Doyle's time with us.

I know he divides opinion but I've got plenty of time for him; I can forgive a player for a lack of ability if they genuinely do their utmost in every game to play to their limit and I think Doyle is that type of player. I also don't think he was actually as bad as some would like to make out - the reality is were were a league one club during his time with us and that was the pond we were fishing in.

He also genuinely seems to appreciate having played for us and praises the club and fanbase whilst acknowledging he got some stick, so fair play.

Webber’s hesitance about “not wanting to become another figurine in Warnock’s collection of strikers” was hilarious to hear voiced that way.

Webber was obviously joking, but as always with these rumours there’s an element of truth. It’s not widely known, but in 2006 amidst the euphoria of promotion, Warnock had Luke Beckett stuffed and mounted to donate as a prize for his village’s annual tractor & pasty festival.

First season under Wilson when his job was to get the ball and move it on like a poor man’s Leon Britton he was decent. Struggled a bit in the latter stages of the second season when we went more direct. Redeemed himself under Clough then they appeared to fall out.
He was part of an era most of us would rather forget but I’ve got no issue with him.
