Evening all, for those of you can remember better than I, does anyone recall United playing in all blue for a short period of time and if so, can anyone remember the season or matches. I have a press photo I'm trying to date.

Forgot all about that - I said we had never had a blue kit until the early 90's away shirt when doing a recent podcast on Blades kits

Anyone got a pic or more details how long we wore it etc?

Any pictures?

I remember us wearing someone else's kit once that may have been blue. Colchester? Bristol Rovers?

Many thanks for all the replies,, a note on the back stated End April 75, but that's usually refers to the date it was going to be used in one of the papers and not the date of the game. Given our fixtures opponents colours at that time it was either Liverpool or Arsenal and that's clearly Highbury (31st March 1975)

Colchester (a) in the 1981/2 season . It was on MOTD. Lost 5-2. Only lost 3 more times that season .... Hull away ( Edwards scored for them, scored for us the week after) Stockport (a) on a Monday night , and I'm buggered if I can remember the other defeat Silent Blade

That game crossed my mind but then I envisaged an all red kit for some reason.

Was the other game Halifax? That was my first season and was only 8.

Scunthorpe, day of the fat lass leading the fighting on the terrace.

Deffo Arsenal. I was at the match, the only time I saw us in that kit.

I was at the Stoke match. It was a shock to see us run out in that kit. For clarification, think Chelsea at the time for the colour.
My dad was shocked too. He mentioned the all blue kit in his match report addressed to me at school. He said it was a scrappy match with both sides kicking each other. Badger was sent off near the end of the match.

Interestingly I found this one, which I think was the season before. Although I don't remember it being worn much.

In 1973-74? Dont think so. I was at Stoke and at Anfield in October 1973 and also at Man U in Boxing Day and I think we wore the same away kit as we have since 1967/68 season.

Maybe it was the same season as the blue one, again I dont recall seeing it. It's the same style collar as both the home and the blue that season.
