Simon Walton

I can't imagine we will pay his full 6 months worth of fees, but I agree with Worksop, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will have an obligation to pay something as he was injured whilst playing for us

"He won't play for us now because his loan will be up by the time he recovers. We are now talking to Plymouth about where Simon will do his rehab."

That sounds worryingly like he's our responsibility. Monumentally stupid transfer/loan gets its apt conclusion. Set of turkeys.

Looking at Blackwell's comment, it looks as if SUFC may well be paying Simon Walton's wages for the loan period.
Jeez. What a complete and utter comedy club.

Give up Len, it's a no lose signing so I'm told.

Get ready for people actually agreeing with Blackwell when he uses this injury as an excuse for our lack of a basic squad when the term starts. In September, Walton will be viewed no doubt by Blackwell as a first team injured player rather than somebody who was effectively brought in on trial in the last chance saloon. Mind you, pretty much all our squad is like that these days - maybe he will have a point.

And what part of that says we will pay his full 6 months worth of loan fees?! Yes we are talking to them, but overall, he is their player, so he should do his rehab at their club, potentially with a small compensation package from us as the injury was caused by playing for us

Cool, give Blackie a ring and tell him Walton is Plymouth's player and he's daft to discuss where he's doing his rehab because it's nowt to do with us guv.

I feel really sorry for the lad.
From what i hear he was desperate to make something for himself here.
We will be able to claim any monies back on insurance wont we?

Depends on the stipulations of the insurance pay out.

I'd say some will pay a minimal amount towards costs. Some will pay maximum. Some dependant on severity.

I'd also say that we have a responsibility and perhaps a duty of care to support the lad, we were willing to sign him on a years loan so we shouldn't just send him back because he got crocked whilst playing for us

well BBC are now reporting that we're stuck paying his wages for 12 months - which is ridiculous - the whole point of a loan signing is no long term commitment - if he was on a 3 month loan and was going to be out for 10 weeks, ew'd send him back..

Keeping him on our books for 12 months is retarded and means that we can now get one less player for the season for our already woefully small, shallow squad. I swear, with the recent rain, i've seen puddles with more depth...

But surely a year-long loan means a year-long commitment? It's been covered earlier in this thread that we are required to cover his wages while he's injured and there have been various bits and pieces of information which have indicated United intend to sign Walton after he has recovered so while it's extremely bad luck that his injury has left us a man down it's not really outrageous that we cover his wages.

Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment. If we'd loaned out a player for a year to get him off the books and then he got injured in his first game and the other club turned round and said they're not paying we'd be going crazy. Simple fact is we signed a year long loan deal with a player we thought might be useful and he got injured while under our employ so we have contracted and moral responsibility to look after him medically and financially.

Shame such a simple thing is being used as yet another stick to beat the team by all the same idiots. It does make for very boring site; I can just picture these idiots scanning the boards for anything to criticise and then jumping for joy when they find something that will allow them to vent their spleen. Christ it's dull to read.

And my friend so is reading all the claptrap regarding Blackwell this Blackwell that, took us to the play offs, took us to within one game of the premier league
There is a significant core of supporters who would like to see a change in management at the Lane Just because you tend to disagree does not make our opinion, yes its about opinions, wrong. We see things differently and desire the Blades to be up in the Premier league playing against the best teams. I for one don't want to watch, with all due respect Scunthorpe, Millwall, and the like I want to see the Blades pit their wits against the Man Utd, Chelsea Tottenham and Arsenal - Blackpool have that pleasure this year because they have a manager who has done it Blackwell has never got to such dizzy heights Wallow in mediocrity if you like Vancouver but I for one think that the Blades fans deserve more!!

I don't recall saying that I thought Blackwell was doing a good job and that I'm happy to wallow in mediocrity so if you can find a quote of me saying that then execellent. Back to reality; I think the football we play is awful and the man-management from Blackwell is shocking; I'm lucky I live here as i don't have to even consider buying a season ticket. What I can't stand is the same old collection of people using any issue; however small, to have a go at the club. I've been on the same boards as our Chief Troll and I've genuinely never seen him write anything positive; I do wonder, if the Blades cause these people so much pain why they bother taking the to constantly write about how shit we are while seeming to take so much enjoyment out of that fact.

Again I am really concerned about who is drafting our contracts - this looks like another lawyers' cock up. I am going to offer my services free !

Strangely enough, referring to folks as idiots simply because they don't share your utopic view of Sheffield United, and that being from a safe distance, doesn't make what you say exciting to read either. You could counter with "I can just picture these idiots scanning the boards for any little scrap of positivite spin so that they can clap till their hands bleed and giddy themselves till they dribble piss". Too many like this prick on here.....

However small? Strikes me there's as many, if not more who're thoroughly pissed off but if you know better from a million miles away then so be it. As to the Chief Troll bollocks well fuck me, that's about as childish as it gets, truly embarassing :loopy::blush::loopy:

:gallop:

Are you telling me this constant attacking the club makes this site a positive thing? You like reading it? You enjoy it? You find it constructive? In terms of your suggestion that the same could be said for the 'happy clappers' it's not quite the same as whoever they are; (as I said; I'm not one of these) they don't spend all their time saying how good the club are or how good every signing we make is while those contrary to the club leap at every opportunity.

So Chief Troll is more childish than cheap swearing and silly emoticons? Anyway; enough of this; it's not helping the thread so I'm done.

Are you telling me the constant defending of the club is a positive thing? Do you like reading it? You enjoy it? You find it constructive? Problem with your argument is that there are a selective bunch of clappers that do swear that the world is red and white and that the club can do no wrong, ffs you only need to listen to one of the administrators on here (Foxy as if you didn't know) to see that there are folks out there who do defend every signing, they defend the club no matter how much we're lied to and shat on.

Chief Troll is fucking pathetic, and it wasn't even done direct which makes it cowardly too but it's OK, it's aimed at big bad Len so it's all above board and it appeals to all the other dimwits who think it's clever to mock another poster (bet there's no infractions dished out to the chirpy boys who slag Len off eh Linz ;)). I know Lenny and he's a good bloke, he's 100% and he cares more than some of you fuckers will ever know so get a grip, stop posting old bollocks from BU, and try to read a few books so that you can learn the art of debate as opposed to jumping on to the "we hate Len" bandwagon, beats all the ganging up and bullying, that just makes you all look like twats.

it's not helping the thread so I'm done.

Drama queen, next step will be your announcement of a sabbatical......................or does BoSS have the copyright on that :loopy::eek:

Would you care to give me some examples of that? because I can give you a counter straight away... it was only a few months ago I was saying that I thought Ertl was crap and I hoped we wouldn't sign him. Just because we have but I've not mounted a campaign to slag him, the manager and the board off for signing him doesn't mean i'm "defending" anything or suggesting the club can do no wrong. Far from it. I'll give him a chance to prove me wrong now he's here, but like I said I don't rate him from what I've seen and I wouldn't have signed him.

You know full well that is a load of shit. Plenty of people have gained infractions for breaking the rules and dishing out personal abuse to Len. As I've said many times, it makes no difference who is involved, the rules are universal (as they should be!) nobody gets different treatment to anyone else. I'll have a read through this thread when I get back home later and give any out that are required from here.

Perhaps you should try "knowing" others before making such sweeping judgements about them and slagging them off? and perhaps you should read the same book, I don't think I've ever seen any suggesting the "my opinion is always 100% right, if you disagree you are a twat".

Can't we have our own opinions without having to resort to such arguements/abuse?

Because they care Vancouver Plain and Simple - We don't all have to be Clappers to be on this forum do we!

Slagging off those who disagree with your doom-laden opinion just because they have the temerity to disagree doesn't make what you have to say interesting, funny or clever. It's like sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "I'm not listening, blah blah blah" over and over again when your Mummy tells you off for not behaving in front of the grown-ups. I don't agree with a lot of what Lenners says, but at least he manages to never descend to the playground level of some.

And the constant horsies are getting to be the internet equivalent of hurling your teddy bear out of your playpen. They amuse nobody, and they are, to quote your good self -

....about as childish as it gets, truly embarassing...

Still, if being the butt of the jokes and the internet equivalent of the village idiot is where you get your jollies then carry on. Who are we to decide which special cases do and don't get internet access? That's down to the care home staff as they distribute their lickable laptops.

My my you boys are easily upset, good job you don't have to take the shit you give old Lenny boy or you'd all be pissing the bed......or maybe you do anyway, nowt to do with me so I'll steer clear of that little line of conversation or it could get messy :easy::eek:

Tired old tripe, not even worthy of comment any more :dj::bummer::dj:
