QFs 27/28th June, final 1st August
Normally I would love the chance to see the Blades in a cup final, particularly on Yorkshire Day, but assuming it will be played behind closed doors I’m not so bothered. Be just our luck having not reached a final for 84 years.
 



I wonder if we will field a weakened team given the fixture congestion?

Then again, with the new 5 subs rule, maybe squad rotation isn’t going to be as key to maintaining league form.
 
Fuck me, we really do make an effort to be miserable about everything don’t we.

If we win the cup it will be the first trophy in my lifetime I can see Wembley from where I live, I’d love to go but if we win it, I won’t lament the fact that I had to watch it on TV, I’ll celebrate us achieving something we haven’t done for nearly 100 years and get absolutely fucking hammered, proper all over the gaff talking pure bollocks hammered.
 
My sympathies to all those who've not missed a game in forever but fuck it a cup final is a cup final and more importantly a trophy (a real one) would be very welcome.

To be fair bush I think we would all do the same. The point some were making was wouldn’t be oh so typical if we couldn’t be there to witness it,

I take your point, but hopefully, winning a final this year may just be the start of trophy winning becoming less of a rarity.

What would be typical is if we lost it, like we always lose at Wembley, probably on a dodgy decision. What is typical is the always feeling sorry for ourselves, like we’re the only team that had bad things happen. What about Everton? Win the league, qualify for Europe but aren’t allowed to play in the tournament because their biggest rivals got English clubs banned. Or Spurs getting denied a champions league place because of Chelsea’s improbable European Cup win.

Get the TV in the garden, barbecue on, mates round and it will still be momentous if we won.

We’ll probably lose in the semi though (I can’t help it, I’m a Blade).

Most of our lads come from the championship where they are used to the fixture list being midweek, weekend for a while lol
 
Got to look at the positives if we made the final.

None of the usual messing about trying to find a train fare under £100, tracking down a spare minibus or blagging a place on a coach from some boozer you thought had shut down years ago.

Good view from the settee rather than struggling to make out who the red and white dot with the ball is.

No 3rd degree burns from sitting in the sun. Unlike Wembley, you are welcome to use a parasol in your back garden.

You’ll remember much more of the game as you are unlikely to start boozing at 6am if you aren’t travelling down.

Plus anything you do drink is likely to be reasonable quality and a fraction of the price of the £5 lukewarm cans out the back of a skip you get in The Green Man.
 
History would say, FA Cup winners:

2018 - Chelsea
2019 - Man City
2020 - Sheff Utd

It would be magnificent to win the FA Cup. It's tough luck fans can't be there this year, but it's still a major trophy. Why anybody says they don't want to win it because we can't be there is beyond me.

But, no, let's not win it just because we can't be there. Give your heads a wobble 🤪

I suppose the difference especially in Spurs case is they’ve been there before and would be expected to be there again so it softens the blow somewhat.

In our case there can’t be many blades alive who last saw us in the fa cup final and let’s be right 4 years ago many of us in out 20’s, 30’s or 40’s were probably starting to give up home of seeing us in one.

To reiterate yours and some others comments, it would be a hell of a day in my household on 1st August if we get there but a part of me would still be saying “ if only I was there”.

It would be one ticked off the bucket list from a football perspective.

All hypothetical I suppose as we are still at the quarter final stage

Exactly this.

Even if we beat Arsenal. The odds are that we will be facing Man U, Man C or Leicester/Chelsea at Wembley in the semis :oops:

Good thing is - us, Newcastle and Norwich all have home games (not sure it's advantage in this environment). If us 3 can progress and we get one of those in the semis, then i'll start to believe.

Behind closed doors will really make or break some of the big teams. People say it will feel like training - have you seen some of the stuff the top players pull out the bag in training?
 
I understand the mentality that it would be typical to reach the final this season with no fans after waiting 84 years.

Earlier this season people were coming up with silly scenarios for our amazing season to get derailed. Don't remember pandemic getting predicted but may be wrong 😁

However, surely no fan would rather not win just because we can't go.
 
I can quite easily imagine sitting in the beer garden, drinking cold lager and watching us on a big tv, go 3 up with 2mins left on the clock, and then being soaked in cold lager!

i know this might be unpopular but i dont know why we are restarting the fa cup. 1st of all because if L1 teams cant play how are they going to do the prelims

but also can you imagine the trophy lift greeted with tumbleweed espically if its Leicester Newcastle or sheff utd. highlight of someone careers greeted with silence
 
We will lose in the QF because they didn’t open the bloody kop :mad:

Not that bothered??... Honestly sometimes I don't know why CWAK and the lads bother!!
You sound like a spoilt brat that didn't get what he wanted for Xmas!
