....should the season recommence, as it looks more likely, we should do well with the remaining fixtures we have. What makes me believe this is as follows:-
1). The number of times I have read various reports from different sources that our players when training go into it 100% and they don't take any prisoners in tackles against their own team mates and CW wouldn't accept any slackness from any individual. Therefore, playing behind closed doors will not deter them from playing to their highest level in games that lack atmosphere created by the fans. Plus, all our lads are itching to get going again and what I've seen can't wait to get back onto the field of play.

2). Again, I have read reports, heard comments, watched interviews from many players from other teams in the Premier league who don't seem up to returning. They don't seem to have the drive or the eagerness to recommence and feel that their heart will not be in these games. Primerdonas who can only put on a show when under the public spotlight.

3). More than 50% of the teams in the PL don't have anything to play for and they will certainly just play out the season; wanting to play safe to avoid injury, especially as the commencement of the new 20/21 season could follow quite quickly. I'm sure that a few players could even report slight symptoms to avoid having to go through the risk.

4). If these games are played on a neutral ground, that would suit our players, as we've witnessed this season, we play well away from home and play in a more relaxed style.
All in all, I'm quite confident.

I think it's clear that the squad drive eachother on. Because of that, they don't "need" the crowd to lift them for games. That could be a major positive for us.

There’s no better manager at focusing the players’ minds on the task at hand than Wilder. Couple this with our fantastic fitness levels and strong team spirit and I think we should be more confident than others when heading into this uncharted territory. These players have been through a lot together and have played in difficult circumstances in the past and I believe they will stand up to the challenge.

Just wishful thinking... let's hope Bundesliga this weekend can be a success and reassure Premier League supremes.

There seems to be a huge difference in fitness and dedication. Given our togetherness and team general ethic, I think we could dare to dream of Champions League if we start well.
Oh, and West Ham are fucked although Norwich could get out of it. It could really liven the end of the season up.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire but listening to all comments on radio and TV by players and owners I can see one of the bottom 6 or 7 teams playing the old " sorry we have 3 or 4 testing positive " even more so if one of them lose first couple of games. This scenario needs buttoning down before it starts. Can see it all going t**so up.

I really hope the German experiment goes without a hitch. I think it would give confidence to the PL that it is possible to finish the season in a safe manner. If things go wrong in Germany, you can bet your bottom dollar the bottom six will jump on it like a ton of bricks, calling for the cancellation of the rest of the season. If and when we do go ahead with the fixtures I hope all fans will not spoil it by causing a problem outside the grounds. I think we have all had enough to worry about without adding to the problems.

Have you not seen our record when we’ve played on neutral grounds? We’ll do well to score. 🤨
Or maybe we'll get the hang of it with a few league games so we'll be ready for a return to Wembley (where we scored 3 last time).

Reading the news looks like it was a success. No fans outside the grounds from what I have read too.

My dad would have had a solution to fans gathering outside the stadiums; bloody shoot them. That was his solution to a lot of things tbf.

I agree, but surely the bottom 3 at any given stage will always want to play on, seeing as cancellation effectively relegates them.
The teams hovering just above, however, have every incentive to want cancellation you're right.

That's one perspective and I hope you're right.

Another perspective is that our game is built on high energy and constant pressing of opponents. That requires a tremendous level of fitness to do it for 90 minutes plus. We will not be 100% fit when we start playing again, so we'll have lost some of that. So will other teams of course. But this may favour teams with more technically superior players, rather than those with the fittest players.

It seems like the Premier League is looking at June 12th to restart, do you reckon us and Villa and City v Arse will be guinea pigs to get things underway? If it goes tits up then we’ll all have played our 30 games and the playing field will have levelled a bit.

Not the worst shout to be honest. Like you say, that would leave the table even and less likely to cause any arguments. Although my argument would be we've played city and Liverpool twice when some others haven't (they haven't even played each other twice) but that's just how the fixtures were.

Would be a huge potential one off game that. A win and we’re in the Champions League with Villa relegated.

If Grealish plays it could also be the 1st ever game where a player is booked for diving due to someone sneezing near them.
