It is indeed - and just to put the record straight with the foul mouthed gobshite from earlier - Calver is a spelling that's come into more regular use in the last few years - probably since Dee-Dahs started moving in and forcing out people like my mate who lived there for decades.
But never let the facts get in the way of a good rant eh?
Probably changed spelling in Tudor times after Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned at Manor Castle and Sheffield folk decided to move away from the steelworks.......
Or, it was never Carver.......
