My missus was having her walk this pm and a delivery van stopped and said 'I like your top' She was wearing a Blades jacket. He said he lived in Sheffield and was a Blade.
In these lockdown days it made her day. Doesn't take much mind you. :)

I live in Leeds and have a blades sticker in the front of my car - don’t want to jinx it but it’s never been scratched hahaha

No but I live in Scarborough
I was in a seafront cafe in Scarborough just before Christmas wearing a United bobble hat and as we were leaving a lady who was there with two lads I took to be her sons said to me " I like your hat".

I must admit that had my mind been a little sharper I would have replied with "and I like your boots"

Opportunity missed 🤣

There is a permanent (retired) resident in Harrogate who is a season ticket holder and goes to nearly all away games also - a converted Weeds fan too far the far distant past !!!!

Would be unfair of me to say who he is - no doubt he may pick up on this thread and make himself known.

I was there all day as I live there but that wasn't me! Can't remember ever seeing a female in a. Blades top in Harrogate.

Now that I've been outed I feel that I should give a full and frank admission of my juvenile mistake and I wish to make it clear, in no uncertain terms, that the guilt has haunted me for over 30 years.

Now that's out of the way I believe that there are a few Blades around Harrogate. I met one briefly in B&Q earlier this season. He did mention that he used to post on here but I have no idea who he was.

Incidentally HighfieldBlade I'm not Richard

You're not the only one.

I've got a mate that used to come to games with me on a regular basis through the 70's and 80's that was a Leeds fan until Paris 75 when Leeds fans trashed the city.

He was so disgusted that he didn't want to be associated with them and the only times he has ever been back to Elland Road have been with me as a Blade!

Yes, you saw the light - just think how you would be suffering now as a weeds fan!

Hope everything is alright in your world and staying safe?

You got any PPE squirrelled away?

I was a final year student at Sheffield Uni in 75. If I could have, I would have gone to that game but fortunately didn't have enough money or tokens. It was embarassing to see what the fans did after the game. As the 70s went on, I became increasingly fed up with the hostility within the stadium - I suppose the fact they were in decline didn't help the atmosphere.

During 1979 I left the area to work in Orkney, and for the next 7 years the only game I attended was the Cup winners cup final in Gothenburg, when Aberdeen beat Real Madrid. I left Orkney in summer 1986, and went to Leeds' first game of the season against Leicester. There was so much aggression and hostility around the ground that I never set foot there again until we beat them 4.0 a few years ago,

My issue was the fans. Ironically I now live opposite a leeds Fan and next door to him a Barnsley fan, both of whom are top blokes. The Barnsley fan was ecstatic when I arrived at his daughter's wedding reception, us just having beaten Ipswich and virtually ensured promotion ahead of Leeds!

All ok in Harrogate thanks. No PPE except for a mask (with a filter) I bought to do a dusty DIY job - couldn't wait to take it off as it was virtually impossible to breathe. The NHS staff wearing all that PPE are to be admired and we should all be eternally grateful to them - 5 or 10 minutes of that mask was enough for me
