There isn't anything cryptic about my post, if you read this thread you will see what Foxy is on about.

I'm not trying to be clever or create a "we know something you don't know" vibe but if it appeared in plain text on a forum questions would be asked as to where the information came from.

Do you mean pages 4 and 5 Windy Robert? I've read them and apart from working out that they play in red and white (so not Grant and Spurr then..) I look a cert to go home with Dusty Bin.

One of them isn't a ball playing midfielder, who plays his international football in green, who we came close to getting a couple of seasons ago, has a reputation for liking pies, and swapped a club playing near one great river for another near another river around the time we were supposed to be looking at him, is it..? PM me to tell me to shut up if getting close...or just to spill the beans if I'm not..!

It was mainly my intention to create a bit of interest/a talking point during the quiet period of no signings, but also hint towards something that hasn't hit the news yet.

Bob's right, the main details can be gleaned easily from this thread, don't over think it and don't get over excited :D

This really is doing my head in! I've been over the posts and can only come to one obvious conclusion (centre half), but it doesn't tie in with everything that has been said. My 'lightbulb' moment hasn't hapened and as another poster said itys like 321!!! I'm ok at the cryptic crossword in The Sun but this is like as if The Times had one! Would someone pleae PM me to put me out of my misery. I wont post or repeat it. In future, can we just leave out the cryptic stuff cos its not doing the old grey matter any good!! :-)
 
been reading the last few pages of this thread and still don't have the slightist idea who you are talking about :(
 
It is a bit annoying, I think I know one of the players but I'm not sure how much he's played last season, I thought he was a regular but he couldn't have been if we have any chance of signing him, plus even if it's on loan it goes against everything we've been told about finances.

Anyway, if this is the player I'm thinking of is a CM who scored in a big game against us however it turned out to be a very very happy game for us, he also scored against us a few years later for another club in the Premiership, but again we prevailed.



As for the other player, I have no idea although I haven't bothered reading the whole thread. Someone said it is pretty obvious one is a CB, care to give some hints?

That can only be Andy Reid but quite how that stems from "2 Argies and a friendly" is beyond me......!
 
No, I cant see what is being hinted at here and I normally click very quickly with things like this. It leads me to the conclusion that this is a wind up, started by someone who likes to bait the gullible ;)

If I'm wrong then fair play but the pessimist in me says its all bobbins.

Unless you mean something positive which obviously gets up Len's nose. Where has he gone to recently by the way? It's like we are on an unbeaten run or something.

It's not a wind up and my intention was not to bait people, though it does appear to have confused and annoyed more than I expected!, sorry :D

Whether there be something to this or not, you have stirred it up in this thread and fair play. I like to see peoples' curiosity drive them to the brink of insanity - its all fun and games! If this truly isnt some sort of wind up then please forgive me. "Oh ye of little faith" and all that (as Bob just said). Normally if I havent cracked something like this in the space of two minutes then I assume its a wind up but clearly I'm just missing something.

I'm not going to ask because; A) if something is going to happen I will find out soon enough; and B) as I'm typing I think I have a slight hunch. See what you've made me do now?! You've got my cogs turning - bar stewards! I wont say what I'm thinking but I promise to be totally honest if I end up being right or wrong :D
 
Normally I would just spill it, as it's not really going to do too much damage and is dragging on now.
But the nature of the information means it would be nicer if the club could announce it with all the pomp and circumstance it deserves.

To put some of you out of your misery it is highly unlikely to be regarding a signing and certainly what Foxy was posting about has nothing to do with players coming into the playing squad.

Well I was wrong then :confused:

I will wait and see in that case but sounds interesting. I will leave it alone now otherwise I will just drive myself mad like everyone else on here.

So, from all the threads so far I deduce this is Seip and Ebanks-Blake (since Foxy didn't say whether they were current Argies - Argyle players) and Andy Reid (A Reid is part of "a friendly" if you take out the letters f, n, l, and y)
 
Ok well It looks like I was wrong in part....

But the other part i'm pretty sure of from what i've read on here and what has been hinted at on another thread...

So the signings part I was wrong, shame, but its understandable as he's playing at the World Cup...

But I could still be right about the team for the friendly as it makes sense.... still 2+2 but the answer is now looking like 8 rather than the original 17 that I calculated

Maybe its not player signings but an addition (or 2) to the management team...oops there goes my calculation again... thats put me at 2+2=24 bugger

Though away from this topic the first two players mentioned are an outside possibility, but unlikely.

You definately didn't read when I said don't over-complicate did you? Great effort though! :D

Seriously guys, you'd be better off just waiting in intrigue for an announcement, it's not what any of you seem to be thinking :)

If its nothing to do with players perhaps its another co-operation with yet another foreign club, Argentinian I would assume. Not overly excited if it is as nothing has come of the others. Are we still linked to Sao Paulo ?
 



I'd already heard what it was about from a very good HP (not on here) but he did add an intriguing little twist that was right out of left field. Made me choke on my bit of fish when I read the text! Not sure if he's on the wind-up with the last bit or it is a genuine development!
