What I've been saying is the only logical solution.

Now domestic football is in no rush to complete and can.leave it as long as 3 months before resuming.

Most sensible decision.

Also gives us chance to:
  1. Get Harry Kane fit
  2. Get O'Connell, Baldock, Sharp and others in the squad.
  3. Find a decent English central midfielder and defensive midfielder by then.
  4. Finally bin off deadwood, like Dele Alli.
  5. Sign Dean Henderson, so that he gets (Sheffield United) after his name when the squad is announced.

From what I hear, the most likely scenario is to allow domestic seasons to finish when safe to do so - let's say the final 10 games played between September & December.

Then next season - each team plays each other once only from December to May, with domestic Cups scrapped.

6. Find a decent manager that isn’t called Chris Wilder.

The only sensible decision to make really, hopefully gives everyone the summer to finish the seasons and cups even if it is behind closed doors and only on TV. The players can call this their summer holiday break like just about everyone else will have to.

I can see next season being like american sport. Play each other once with like 1 up and 1 down automatically. then end of season play off knockouts with like the next four in the champ and second to 5th bottom in the prem to settle the second spot.

The Japanese Prime minister is doing a King Canute at the moment, but he will be swamped by the in rushing tide.

Loads of cycling/boxing and swimming qualifiers postponed and presumably many elite athletes unable to train normally.

If it does go ahead, it will have to be massively downscaled IMHO.

Think people who say the season can finished whenever arent thinking properly. The people who own the premier league are sky. They only run due to sky’s money per year. Sky aren’t stupid and will work with the premier league with a delay for the games to be completed. But they aren’t going to make another payment to the teams in summer. If they don’t make that payment most teams including us will run out of money over night.

That won't work either. Teams will be arguing the toss about having to play away at Liverpool/Man City whilst other teams get a home shot.

The domestic leagues have committed to completing the season by 30th June. So presumably if that doesn’t happen the season will be void?

I can see behind closed doors matches starting as soon as the Premier League suspension ends.

Split next season top flight into two leagues of 10 for one season only. Each league seeded so it’s equal in terms of skill. Top 2 in each go into a round robin end of season tournament to determine a cup winner. Bottom 2 in each league go into relegation playoffs, with the winner staying up.

There's no ideal outcome, but one will be optimum on balance. This scenario represents that to me.

Just play twice a week and scrap the cups like you say. UEFA will need to shortern the format of the European competions.

it will be pulled in the next month.. no chance it’s going ahead.
