What do you mean young Sheffielders were way up to speed with fashions in the 70s and 80sThat’s what I thought but then I just thought ‘Sheffield’.

Yes. It's lower down than I thought when I said it was the junction with Queen Street.Seeing this reminds me, re your other photo of Figtree Lane (section on that photo is now New St.) the very bottom at West Bar is now Scargill Croft which runs up to Bank St.
Upperthorpe?
That cant be early 80s more like early 70s suedeheads the interveiwers wearing flares.
Hope this hasn't been posted before...…….If so apologies. Apparently hand carved and originally had a fag in it's gob. A present from father,. the scarf was knitted by the recipients mother.View attachment 72427
Oxidation in peace Ber...…......only rust at S6That’s Bertie Blade, our old club mascot. He had one son, who was a bit daft to say the least. His son had a daft expression on his face and thought he was a pirate.
Bertie quit smoking, that’s why the fag is missing from his gob. But he died a good few years ago now of metal fatigue.
Rust in peace Bertie!
I thought that, then thought maybe Wincobank, but couldn't place those flats
I think so too. It looked very familiar as soon as I saw it but I couldn’t place it. I think the newer looking houses in the background are the ones above Langsett Road.Upperthorpe?
Tony Curry band wagon!!
The older we get, the more the 1980s look like the 1970s, and the 1990s look like the 1980s. I couldn't tell you what the 2000s looked like because I wasn't paying attention.
As for this march for jobs thing, was that the one that Richard Caborn (a newish MEP back then) leant his support to only for a group of skinheads to tip a few bins over and doubtless kidney punch a few handicapped children which led to a debate about it on Radio Hallam, and some people telling Tricky Dicky that it had all "blown up in your face, Richard"? Was it? I hope so after writing all that.
Any chance of the tower block being Pye bank, Pitsmoor, looking from where A61 ring road is now.
It could be. I was trying to find a view on google maps in Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe that matched it but couldn’t.Any chance of the tower block being Pye bank, Pitsmoor, looking from where A61 ring road is now.

Unfortunately, there's no information other than it was from 1967.Ken Mallender and David Munks. What ground was this?
My guess would be Southampton on Boxing Day because Saints wore black shorts for home games. 3-3 draw.Unfortunately, there's no information other than it was from 1967.
