Wonder if there's owt in this rumour about Man U fking off the other interested parties and only selling Hendo to us but with a buy back clause?

Man U fking off Chelski and Spuds and allow him back to the Blades would be a reyt laugh :)

Off load a wage and bank a bit of cash, let him keep developing while De Gea sees out his contract, buy him back for less than a top keeper elsewhere, and throw in a relegation clause. Whether we like it or not, we are more likely to drop than the other teams mentioned.

Correct and I know which option I'd like Man U to go with.

Perhaps Dean Henderson in goal for us, makes us a little more unlikely to go down? After all, most pundits said not only would we be relegated this season, we'll actually finish bottom. Clever aren't they?

Whilever CW is here, I no longer even think about relegation.

Hopefully, we are moving forward. Hopefully, we'll become an established PL side. Hopefully, players such as Berge, Hendo and others will help us get to that established position.

If a deal that's being muted/rumoured suits our club, then I'm behind it

I think most Blades would love him to stay I know I would but surely the player himself will have a say where he wants to go and I know he loves it here and we love him but he has just signed a new contract with Man Utd and is bound to be on more money than he will get on a permanent deal at the Lane. Also the clubs who are sniffing around him are also mega rich who pay silly wages and it would be hard for him to turn them down.

A bit of speculation regarding the future of David De Gea in today's Mirror.

I don't see how they can 'cash in on him'. That term is used generally when someone's stock is high, the reason they might want to let him go is because he's going downhill. I think he needs a new club personally.

However, who is going to pay him 350k a week that they stupidly gave him only 8 months ago? Also they'll want 60/70m for him.

So they're basically appealing to a list of about 5 clubs, Juve/PSG seem the only likely destinations, but not sure they will.

There might be a bit of a GK transfer frenzy in the summer which may or may not have a knock on effect on DH. Chelsea are rumoured to be after Oblak at Athletico Madrid, and that might kick start a few transfers. They’re prepared to let Kepa go, and whether he’d be part of a deal or a separate transfer, might dictate if De Gea was tempted back to Atletico. Then you’re looking at the lad at Ajax or DH as replacement.

PSG are probably in the market for a international quality GK, Inter possibly, as well as Real being unconvinced with Courtois.

There might be a shuffle round of keepers in the summer.

What's Richard Wright up to these days? Could we tempt him?

Juve can't afford him while they've got CR7, so I think they're selling to a market of one club - PSG.
The alternate is selling Henderson to us for half that amount, keeping their existing No1, all with the by back clause allowing them to take him back in a few years.

Cashing in on DDH is a pipedream which would have been believable 2-3 years ago but not in the current climate.

Wouldn't be so sure of that considering they're allegedly in the market for Neymar. Though they might as well wave a banner inviting Uefa to look into their financial accounts.

Who Man Utd? Not heard that but it would be hilarious if true.
If it's Juve I just don't believe they can afford his wages nevermind the fee, as the CR7 deal nearly broke them as it was.

Didn't the signing of Ronaldo double Juventus' stock value to 1.5B euro's. Apparently the Juventus board expect the Ronaldo transfer to pay for itself, though increased, sponsorship, broadcasting etc.

I think Neymar would have a boost but probably not to the same level especially if Ronaldo is still there.

Currently Juventus are making a loss each year and the broadcasting deal isn't up for renewal until 2021. I can't see them making a move for Neymar until the summer of 2021, unless Ronaldo leaves.

Maybe they could stop buying every midfielder going and not selling any of them :)

Maybe they'll trade DDG for CR7+ Cash? Would be a huge transfer!

Understand your joke, but as an aside I hope DDG is doing OK mentally. The fans never seemed to really take to him - maybe it's because he was a bit flash, or because his Dad was running around pretending he was already a superstar - but he did seem destined for big things and most that saw him in more than a handful of games would vouch that he was probably the biggest talent our academy has produced.

Those injuries came at a really bad time for him. Anyone know what he's up to now? I know I would have gone through some pretty dark times given his circumstances.

Plays for buxton. (not quite Juventus but not far of...)

I thought you were taking the piss lol

Unfortunately not. Bit hungover today, my office in London got sent packing yesterday due to Coronavirus scares so we all ended up in the pub all day. I saw DDG & Juve and it brought me back to the piss taking Diego used to get whilst he was here. My bad.

Another mistake from De Gea yesterday, the way he's playing I can see them looking to start Henderson next season and have De Gea on the bench (assuming they don't move him on).

Yes every time De Gea drops a bollock least chance of us keeping hold of Deano.

Given we seem to be active trying to sign highly rated keepers (The Turkish lad for one) I have doubts that Hendo will be here next season. It could a warning shot across his and Man Utds bows to stop pissing about, but I think a number of things have come together to mean he is elsewhere come August.

I really don't think he will be with us next season, and the club know it, probably one of, if not the best loan signing we have ever had

I think a lot will depend on where we finish this season and if we're playing European football next season.

Will Man U be happy loaning a player to a club which finished above them in the table when there will be plenty of other offers for his services on loan? Will we use our rising reputation within European football to sign a top quality keeper on permanent basis, we'll be an attractive club to play for should we be playing in Europe.
