Take your time sheff utd etc.
I fucking hate timewasting. Play the fucking game our way, not like some twats we would hate to be.

That stupid thing that southern clubs fans like Arsenal do , when one side sing "Were the left side we're the left side " then the other lot do their bit , that's cringeworthy!

I think the ladies should sing, "Sheffield is full of cock, bollocks and United" just to even things up.

Never mind the ladies, this is the one I'm going to sing from now on.

I can't totally explain why but any of the Sloop John B ones always make me cringe - Nuno had a dream, on our way back, best trip I've ever been on, etc.

Actually it turns out I can explain why this makes me cringe:

The singing was what I liked best about going to football matches.
A large crowd singing, it's very animalistic
Away games are best. And the ruder the better. My young son loved singing 'you can stick your fucking bubbles up your arse' at West Ham
I don't care what we sing, as long as we sing. Ground seems a bit quite this year. Have we acquired a load of plastic fans?

Yes.

Going back to 70's we played Hull @ Boothferry Park night match it was proper freezing, the Hull fans were singing Tigers, Tigers but instead of clapping were making the noise with mouths as too cold to clap.

Any interchangeable modern day chant is cringeworthy.

As Millwall fans stated after we visited in the cup we seem to be awash with them, making us nondescript among other premier league/championship clubs.

The only exception I give is the Allez Allez Allez song

Say goodbye to the days of the classics such as “If I had the wings of a Sparrow”, very rare to see owt old apart from at away games on high loyalty points, but with cunts begging for tickets that’s out the picture

Good rendition of 'If I had the wings of a Sparrow' in the Kop bogs before the Brighton match.

That one to the tune of the entertainer is the worst I've heard at the lane.

Salmon and Sharpe and Che and McNulty, Diego Di Girolamo.

Fully agree, any football chant to Sloop John B is fucking abysmal.

If you aren't Brian Wilson or Al Jardine, fuck off!

I know, but they arranged it. Its original writers are lost to the mists of history.

Others recorded it quite some years before. They had the major hit by giving it the "Beach Boys Sound" - and nailed it - but it had charted before. More folky, but still similar arrangements.

From one of the best albums ever.

We're in an era of decent chants, I think they're decent in their own right, but their made better by the fact that they're synonymous with success.

Jack O'Connell's magic hat...
John Egan's song...
We're on the march with Wilder's Army...

[QUOTE="I’ll tell you what has almost disappeared out the game is heckling the goalkeeper taking a goalkick finishing off with
‘You’re shit .........Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Classic 😀

Brighton were singing it to Henderson on Saturday.

We are blades we are blades..oh we are we are blades...boring as fuck..does my napper in...drone drone drone..let,s be more aggressive....kill kill kill the bill....OR any bastard...I'm drunk so fuck the law smoke the draw..if easily offended..fuck off!..

the shittest of all chants, that and die piggy die

The only one that goes through me is when we spell out SHEFFIELD UNITED as if we've all of a sudden learned to spell our name after 130 years!

From oppo fans I've always hated "Marching on together" at Elland Road, always liked "Delilah" from the Stokies though.

Worst song for me is that achey breaky heart shite that nearly every club had a variant for 2 or 3 years ago, somet along the lines of.... we've got (an average player), I just don't think you understand. First time I heard it was with that fat Payet at West Ham, think the pigs sang it about Barry banjo string too. Embarrassing, monotonous and bland.

Agreed. And then embarrassment level x 10 when said average player is Gary Madine 🤦‍♂️

Hodgey Hodgey Hodgey Hodgey Hodgey..

In a bizarre Alouette, gentille alouette......like tune

What were we thinking .....

We were singing this back in the 70's, so it may have only taken us 90 years to lern how to spel

Liverpool have always struck me as fans who have a knack of great terrace chants.

Liiii-verpool, Li-verpool, Liiii-verpool, Li-verpool
Stevie Gerrard (clap clap clap), Stevie Gerrard
Harry, Harry Kewell, Harry, Harry Kewell

and extremely similar to the Stevie Gerrard one...

Jerzy Dudek (clap clap clap) Jerzy Dudek
