Not heard this from pundits yet, they are to busy hiding their blushes. But, I’ve read quite a few bits from others (fans forums etc. thanks Roygbiv) that we will be relegated next season and Wilder will be off.

I’m confident they are wrong for one reason often overlooked, the Prince. Now I openly admit I got it wrong and he’s more than proved me wrong with the court revelations and actions since then but that’s another thread.

The reality is IMO we are in safe hands. The big difference with our ownership is it’s not just about the money, he’s a self confessed sports fanatic a quality not evident in many other PL and/or Championship clubs. Sport and winning appears to be his passion with clubs in the states and Belgium as well as his earlier position in charge of the national sports program in Saudi.

I was wrong before about the Prince and I might be wrong again but as a typical damaged ‘old’ supporter I don’t think I am and I’m hoping I’ll be going out with the Blades on the up.

Think the comments about us being relegated next season are just bitter fans...think it’s more wishful thinking than actual belief.
The signing of Berge for 23 million has swayed the pundits that we are planning to push on next season and not just settle for staying up.

I think mental approach is so important. Most promoted clubs target “staying up” and it’s considered success.

Wilder and the Prince have a totally different mentality......they target “winning every game”...home and away.
The players have bought into this thought process.

Next season our target will be Europe....if we fail we might end up finishing mid table
Thats much better than targeting staying up and if you fail then you’re relegated.

Is it him and his money or the Sky money that's being spent ?

Doesn't matter, it's money being spent. If it comes from within the club then we aren't beholden to an owner when he decides he's had enough. If McCabe was here he'd be more bothered about "planning for next season" and being a "well run club" than actually investing profits back into the playing side of the club.

At the moment we can afford to fund the club using the money that the club generates, we need someone to spend this wisely, not to throw £100m+ of their own in to fund frivolity. Hopefully the Prince can do this.

If it's the 'sky' money, It's the club's money, which is what should be invested into the club. If we needed a owner to plough his own wealth in, we'll start going the way of other troubled clubs.

The proof of the pudding will come when things start going wrong ( which I hope doesn't happen ). The prince has come in on the crest of a wave and is getting all this adulation very much like tuna man did in S6.
Look what they think of him now !

As far as I am aware, and without trawling through his non-league days, Chris has the amazing record of always finishing higher than the season before.
If he keeps this up for 3 or 4 more years, well, the mind truly boggles.
I wouldn't even worry a little bit about relegation next year, unless somehow we lose CW, and then that would be like death in the family.

If McCabe was still in charge it would be make do and mend with the Sky money going into running the club just like the 2x Kyle, Beattie, Maguire et al monies.

Ffs how can anyone compare our current situation to be the same as the dolphin killer. Give him credit HRH has battled with a devious co-owner to earn his place, obviously brought well thought off and connected contacts into scouting and had the balls to back CW with players ranging from £500K to £23m all without breaking Fair Play rules

The prince hasn't come in this season.
He's been here for a few years. Although he did leave for a couple of years due to his job for the Saudi sports ministry...And he's also had lots of negative scaremongering from certain sections of our fanbase.

Chansiri has never seen the crest of a wave ( not even a ripple ) whereas HRH as you call him has dropped on his feet. KM never put a penny into the club according to you , FFS he kept us afloat through the bad times ( much his own doing ).
We sold Jones, Birchenall, Sabella, Currie ect long before KM was in charge it's what we had to do to make ends meet at the time. Now fortunately we don't have to do that, different circumstances altogether.

listening to that podcast with Chris and Steve Bettis it’s quite revealing
For example there was a budget earmarked for January, but then long-term target Sander
became possible so after consultation with the Prince and the board getting Sander
was brought forward to the January window (and therefore funds earmarked) and subsequently we got ahead of the competition and iceman is now at Bramall Lane
Leaving it to the summer equals bidding war
So again it’s not so much what money we have available and what source it comes from
Our strategy is about getting value for money
And targeting position specific, players with the right character to fit in with our ethos
And as Chris always says
Not spunking money
This is perhaps why the pundits are having a bit of a love in with the blades and not simply stating that it is a one season novelty and we will get found out next season etc
We are proving to be one hell of a blueprint on the playing field
But also one hell of a blueprint off the playing field
Doing it the blades way(CWAK/Prince version)
Fucking brilliant
Of course bitter and jealous fans will say something else

The Prince as come in on the crest of a wave! McCabe brought him in when we were struggling at the bottom of league 1 and if McCabe was still here we would probably be still there now!

Correct he's been here for a few seasons except for his sabatical but this is his first season in sole control.

The blueprint is also Liverpool’s. Klopp has a similar philosophy to Wilder and the owners have a similar philosophy to PA. That’s why Jim said ‘think Liverpool’ all those years ago. How we laughed. Well we’re not laughing now. Oh, hang on...

There is a difference already though in how they both approach things. The Chanser chucked cash around like confetti on players and agents, all at the behest of Doyen sports and other 'advisors', yet at the same time hiked up prices for supporters and essentially treat them like a commodity.
The Prince on the other hand has stumped up the necessary funding to get key signings, but only on the advice of Wilder and Bettis, and so far hasn't done anything to make supporters feel disconnected with the football club.

Yes it's easier to be popular and be nice when things are going well, but even when Chanser had Wednesday in the playoffs twice, he was still treating their supporters like trash. They were just too blind to see it.

Kevin? That you Kevin? Come on now, go home, let it lie. For the love of god, have some dignity.

Sounds like you should go to S6 if you admire Chansuri so much and have an apparent dislike of HRH, Bogroll prince, Prince Abdulla Mas.... whatever you want to label him

You bastard sussed me😁 me and Prince put in equal amounts during our rise up the leagues my money bought Lenoard, Holmes and Carruthers but the Prince bought Coutts, Duffy and Fleck. That should keep the natives happy for a bit.

Or the way of Man City/Chelsea which is possible !

Teams that succumb to second season syndrome are teams that escaped by the skin of their teeth in season 1
hull cardiff huddersfield only just stayed up in season 1

we have performed more like wolves and bournemouth after they got up

people cant suss us out as we are evolving and changing for the better
we are defending with more ability than hope
, we are a good defensive side ,with teeth up front

would i be over-egging it to say we could be challenging for the title next season? i don't see why not with additions in summer, i am not by any means saying we will either, but if Leicester can, we can

One thing I do hope is that IF we were to be relegated, the club and the fans stand by Wilder and back him to get us back up again assuming he wanted to.

That's not a sentimental view, it’s what I think would be best for the club. Hopefully it won’t happen and he’ll hand it over to his successor having spent an unbroken decade in the the Premier League and with a stash of new trophies in the cabinet ⚔️

Hoo

wilder is a man looking up , not below
if we finish 4th wilder will want to finish 2nd next season , not worry about how to stay up
if we finish 8th he will be seeking europe next season

winners look to win

defeatists look to survive

its the looking to win mantra we must adopt

He will be loaning against future income, the “business” will be funding itself which is common practice in the premier league..

Stop up and it’s all rosy in the garden.. go down think Portsmouth..

Portsmouth got an FA cup out of it, so I’m all for gambling this way, at least if a “Portsmouth” situation occurs we will have won something in my lifetime..

I’m not getting any younger or fitter, selfish I know, sorry..
