He didn't stop the game every time they were lying prone on the deck, and I can't remember the last time we had three added minutes in the first half when there hadn't been a proper injury stoppage.

They know the ref HAS to stop it for this; but if any player starts faking this (and they do) the ref suddenly has to start deciding if the head injury’s real or not and whether to therefore play on.
Eventually he might get one wrong and (although it’s unlikely) there’s a chance some player’s life is potentially at risk because the ref’s played on due to seeing so many players in the past pretending to be injured.
