His hold up play is amazing for a little fella.
He is so strong and really really clever.
He is probably a better footballer now than he ever has been ... he is just too slow for the areas we had to play in last night.

Unfortunately our fast alternative isn't half as experienced or savvy.

Because we are not going to change from the formation that has got us to where we are right now.

And who is Ravel (Hardly any minutes and not making the bench) coming in for? Fleck who is in the form of his life? Or Norwood who is vital to how we play even when he’s having an off game?

Does this explain why I’m confused?

Might be worth having a little glance at the fixture list

Struggling to see what he did so well. Granted he didn't have much to work off but if any of the others played the same people would be saying they had little impact on the game.
Strong, great touch, intelligent movement and good runs, battled, worked his arse off and led the line, winning free kicks and providing respite. Suppose you'd have preferred Ravel? (joking, I come in peace)

((It's the FA Cup))

We're not over the line yet, February is important. After that id agree but I've a feeling Wilder will be looking to get the highest finish possible. Doubt he will experiment much.

If we weren’t going to start with last season’s formation at home to non-league Fylde, what probability do you think there is that we’ll be starting with it away on Saturday at Millwall, or in any of our remaining fixtures? It’s low. It’s really low.

How has he not started more?

His all round game seems to only get better and I’m sure he’s getting faster..

I thought he looked like:

he didn't have the pace
he was fat
his legs had gone
he'd never make it at this level

Did I miss anything from the shite that people say about him.

What a fucking player.

😂😂😂 Need to get to SpecSavers mate.
😂 Well his hold up play was good against some quality defenders, but obviously his pace isn't great, but has it ever been? Loved when Wilder and Knill seemed to be laughing at him chasing the ball, which he left for a corner 😂 I honestly think he should go out on loan truth be told, finish his career with some Championship goals!

Does anyone else think Sharp's all round game is better than the moose? I think moose is a bit one dimensional at the moment. I have no doubt that he will develop into a top quality player if he puts the effort in on the training field.

Moose has the touch etc of a top class player but needs to make more effort to find space in the final third and hassle the defense like Billy does.

Well, Mooses one dimension is that he can run at, round or through opposition defenders and score. So it's not a bad dimension ;)
Billy's hold up play was phenomenal though, he deserves more pitch time on the basis of what he did against that opposition.

Yeah mate I agree. I wasn't trying to make out that it's a bad a thing. But if he can add more strings to his bow and improve his Fitness (Hope he's not a Nadé) he will will be a top class player.

I just think Billy has potential to offer more to the team with is all round game at the moment. And he's a proper shithouse haha, funny when it's one of our playing who hardly gets touched and goes down. But Grealish can fuck off 😂

His pairing with McB is sub optimal.
Wilder should consider this. Wether we like it or not, we go more direct when he is on the pitch. This is NOT where Sharps main skill set is likely to shine the most.

McB should pair with Moose, for the most part.

Against some of the lower placed teams, and especially at home, Sharp has done more than enough for me to justify getting significantly more pitch time in the final third of the season.

UTB

He is still the best finisher at the club and the most adept at winning free kicks, but I think he would have the most impact in matches where we are pressing high and his lack of pace is less important and his positional skill comes into play- which probably means from the bench as an impact sub sadly.

McBurnie put in his best performance to date for the club last night, winning aerial battles and putting himself about. Let's hope he can do that consistently, but I doubt Sharp would have missed the chance he had. Moose needs to work on his decision making and awareness - the backheel was innovative and ambitious, but he had an easier and better ball available to Fleck who was wide open and facing goal. For me Didsy is by far our most creative forward but he needs to find a goal from somewhere to take the pressure from him, most of which I think is coming from himself.

All in all we need to up our conversion rate of chances created. That said we are at least creating chances. UTB

Lots of respect between McBurnie and Sharp after last nights match.

Him and Moose have the makings of a decent partnership but I think he’s benefiting from playing next to Sharp at the moment. You can see Billy telling him stuff on the pitch. I thought they’re working quite well together. I’d like to see them both against a team that doesn’t press us as well, where we can keep it on the deck a bit more.

As soon as we’re safe, I’d love to see Billy and Didzy starting up front (maybe the Newcastle game). Lets see what the old Championship strike force can do in the Premier League.

There’s absolutely zero logic to that.

Zero logic to having the two strikers that bagged the goals to get us promoted playing alongside each other?

Just doing it for the sake of it without considering which strikers are in form and deserving the starts, yes there’s no logic to it. We’re a football club, not a charity. If both players have, on the basis of form, performance in training, and whatever else Wilder’s wanting to assess players on week to week, warranted starts then of course start them – on merit.

They were on fire last season, or was I dreaming? Good shout IMO. Can see why Wilder has opted for different variations so far as it was imperative to get the points on the board. If we are lucky enough to be safe with a few games to spare, as is looking very likely, why not?

Millions of pounds per league position perhaps?
