Maybe i am putting 2+2=5 here...

but when the prince took over as chairman at Beerschot, he invested in a company and then made them sponsors, I would imagine he could make a similar manoeuvre with us, and invest in a smaller company and get them as sponsor.

Or, since he is looking for investors in the club, could we see a deal in which someone invests in the club and gets a sponsorship deal as part of that investment? Would love to see the Bin Laden name emblazoned on our kit me... instant classic

Assuming we are still in the PL next season we will have no problem getting a new sponsor and probably for more money than the current deal

Speaking to a friend in the pub on Sunday, they explained that we already have a new sponsor set up for next season anyways. Family members work in the marketing/advertising area of United. Obviously refused to say who it was, but we have a new sponsor for next season already...may be linked to this.

They were taken over by Vaux which was broken up in a buy out. The brand was dropped after this as the financiers thought they could make more money building luxury apartments. The project cost much more than expected, overrunning budgets etc and the MD of the main contractor was marched out of his building. (First hand knowledge, not gossip).

as other poster said... it's not a problem if the company actually exists! However, the only problem i can see, is that we might go down the Brighton route where every single thing we are associated with is one company (and thus renaming out stadium the D-Taxis stadium, for example)

As someone who was involved in property development for over 30 years , it never ceases to amaze me how people who would run a mile if you asked them to change a spark plug on a car or even a washer on a tap , suddenly decide that they have the knowledge and skills to take on , and supervise , relatively major projects in this field .

There seems to be a general notion that any fool can do it , but many fools have found out to their cost that there's a lot more to it than meets the eye and that the consequences of their lack of knowledge and understanding of the complexities involved in the process can be devastating .

The best (or worst) example of this has to be the bloke who featured on Grand Designs last year , who embarked on a vanity project in Devon some 10 years ago saying that it would cost him £1.5 million and be finished in 18 months

Since then , he has pumped £7 million into it , his wife and kids have left him and he owns a shell with doors hanging off and windows smashed .

If your'e thinking of doing it , be careful .
