McBurnie In away end

Premier League footballer enjoying watching football with his mates in the stand? Goodness me, it’s an outrage (unless, like Wilder, he was watching the Blades, then that’s wonderful).

Some people really struggle to find things to be outraged about.

I have no problem with him following Swans with his pals. I take issue with his attention seeking, immature behaviour whilst in attendance.

He's representing Sheff Utd when he's in the stand giving it wanker signs with his mates pulling their zips up over their faces. Sky are filming him live, caption "Oli McBurnie, Sheffield Utd." The papers are running the story. It's embarrassing. He needs to wise up.

I'm a massive supporter of him as a player & have defended him in other threads, but stuff like this is annoying.

I’m not bothered what he does in his own little world, but if that were me on camera I’d be embarrassed. As I was at his age. However I was running round with idiots without a care in the world. He plays for a professional football club.

Ok, he and his mates have some dodgy fashion sense to say the least, and I thought Rodon was summat Godzilla once fought. But I gave up.on the whole footballer role model thing a long time ago.

The drink driving thing whoever does it is bellendery of the first order. But as long as he does what he is paid for, he can bang all the porn models he wants and dress like Ronald McDonald.

He's a football fan acting like any normal football fan would.

How does his wanker sign 'reflect badly on the club' when anyone who has ever been to or watched a game on tele can hear the exact same thing?

Because he's a premier league professional footballer representing our club. Go to the game, have a beer and enjoy. Don't act like a twat.

But not getting hammered is the absolute minimum he can do in his position?

Only my call, but if Martin gets a fraction more on that shit shot on Friday night then Oli gets battered on here for offering chavs out and giving the wanker sign live on sky

Anyway glttl
But he didnt. It went in the net where he meant it to go. He obviously loves Swansea & their fans. No complaints when Kyle Walker & Harry Maguire sit with our fans in the away end. Stop finding fault with the lad when he’s done nowt wrong.

Which i’m sure he did. He’s just enjoying his weekend as I have done after a good result on friday night. He’s not been fighting with anyone or done anything to damage our club. Leave him alone.

And being a premier league professional footballer disqualifies him from being a football fan in his spare time?

Thinking someone is a twat is subjective, why should he have to live by your standards?

Also unless he sent an email to Sky telling them his seat number, he's hardly asking for attention is he. He's trying to blend in if anything, never publicises his attendance or anything - some ex-players will be like "see you at Bramall Lane on Saturday, wouldn't miss it" and then sit in the posh seats.

McBurnie just turns up.

All the gits that don't like how he dresses or speaks can bollocks aswell. Times have moved on, he dresses like people his age dress and talks like a lot of people his age talk.

When you were 23 did you wear slacks and a pullover, say things were "natty" and eat chitterlings and bag like your Dad or did you do your own thing?

Stupid behaviour. Watching the footy is fine but giving it the wankwr sign is not. I've defended him but as said he needs to wise up as his actions seem to invite criticism and draw unwanted attention.

He's a pro footballer, the small sacrifice you make in exchange for ridiculous wages is to behave in public.

The guy in the white coat is a Welsh pro MMA fighter from Swansea, so I would say he is keeping good company and it’s a few sportsmen letting off steam on a rare day out.
Maybe shouldn’t have done the wanker sign but at least it shows he’s passionate and down to earth mixing with us mere mortals.
As for Stone Island being hooligan wear - times have changed and the kids don’t see it like that now as it’s more mainstream- I don’t hear anyone criticising Pep for wearing it on the touch line at City games!
People are too easily offended these days, we’ve had players do far worse in the past and people didn’t react like this.

The criticism of Mcburnie on this thread reflects more badly on those making it than the lad himself. Footballers are not role models outside of the pitch, and you're not the arbiters of morality, ethics and good behaviour. The law is the standard he has to respect when representing this club - like everyone else.

He’s a 23 year old footballer. Spends Friday night with his bird, then ditches her, to take in a match with his mates. Top lad.
TBF you’d think he’s spent plenty of time on the bench watching the Blades play this season. Poor lad can’t win for trying to please everybody. ;)

There is obviously a difference between how KW and HM have acted at the Lane or elsewhere watching the Blades compared to Oli watching Swansea but let's not mention that.

Probably not a popular opinion, and I've liked his interviews I've seen whilst with us, but I find it crackers he thinks this is a reasonable way to spend his free time. He's probably a pretty high target for the Cardiff nut iobs.
And don't get me on the subject of him pissing about with some 3rd rate porno tart!
He seriously needs to grow up and stop acting like a complete twat!
View attachment 68459Don’t know who this fella is but is McBurnie wearing a Wednesday hoodie I’ve instantly gone off him
he’s a representative of Sheffield United. He may be a supporter of Swansea...but he’s a Sheffield United player. Set a fucking example why don’t you?
He is a professional footballer representing Sheffield United. He needs to act with a bit more though. Doing wanker signs on TV and giving it the rods is not on. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get fined.
I think the lad is probably a really nice kid and means no harm but his actions are immature and don’t reflect well on him or our club.
I take issue with his attention seeking, immature behaviour whilst in attendance.

This was me tbf, in the South Stand, on Friday night in the 92nd minute. Shortly after that VAR decision.

Jokes aside I’ve no problem with it. The only concern as others have said is if he takes it too far and gets chinned. Or a banning order - is it just attending football matches that you’re banned from? Is actually playing a loophole that you can get around?
