That's what you get from a squad worth £1.07billion against one worth £104.45million. The difference in speed, energy levels speed of thought and overall skill comes at a cost. Unless you find gems at lower levels and polish them you can never compete realistically with the top teams that have been earning 100's of millions for years in the premiership. As we cannot afford to compete with the big boys financially unless some deluded playboy billionaire wants us as an hobby we we have to rely on our scouting system to unearth some gems. Saying this, to do that we are competing with every other club trying to do the same, even the big boys. Hopefully we have some good scouts.

Luckily there are other squads cost £500m and play like £150m. They have managers on £7m plus too.
