It took 21 games for us to get outclassed. UTB!

Hmmmm. I don’t think that 2-1 would have been a very accurate representation of the game.

Clutching at straws trying to take positives from that battering.

I didn't say it would have.
I said it was very very close.
How is that clutching a straw?

How the hell is 2-0 away to the European champions a battering?

They were class, we barely got a look in.

It was mixed feelings for me, watching that. It short, it doesn't tell us much - newly promoted side beaten by champions elect and arguably the best side the premier league has ever seen.

In more detail: wow, my Blades are playing away at Anfield in the league. The absolute priority, above all else, has to be survival. But the way we've applied ourselves so far, I'm disappointed that we didn't compete more - how daft does that sound? But we've made such a strong start and played such fantastic football (hence winning over the neutrals) that it's hard to not really be in a game. After all, it's years since we've really known that.

We're breaking records as far as newly promoted teams go, playing lovely stuff, but there's plenty of hard work left to do. It'll be interesting to see what we do this transfer window.

P.s. Salah moaning about Besic tracking back and knocking him off the ball there, wanting a free kick. Fucking hell the game is soft. Get a grip, play on.

You surely didn’t watch the game if you are asking that question.

To be honest teams at the top arnt our goal, we have to get points from the mid to bottom table teams

There were plenty of positives to take from that. Some of our play on the ball was excellent even if it was infrequent to say the least.

Liverpool are just that good.

We weren't battered at all. Liverpool played 85 minutes of the game as though they were 1-0 up in the 80th minute. They just kept it tight and simple and didn't allow us the ball, but striking quickly when the opportunity presented itself.

600 of their 870 passes were by their back 4 and Henderson. Only 28% of the play was in our third. They just kept the ball away from us and we barely tried to win it back.

Should’ve been 4 or 5, that was a mauling

I think that's incredibly harsh …….

They've had good fortune with both the goals that they scored and if not for that it would have been 0-0 away at the world champions club.

I'll live with that in our first season in the Premiership for a long time ;)

We needed more of that. Think that was the strongest tackle we put in all night.

We weren't physical enough, didn't press as much and the mid 3 were shocking. We would probably still have lost tonight but I would have liked to have seen far more effort and belief.

Roll on to the Shammers for a big reaction.

Besic really is starting to up his game and offer something different, he's properly nippy too.

I didn't watch it. We lost 2-0. I don't think Klopp is a patronising tosser, so it's a genuine 2-0. Some people have very short memories, and the attention span of a gnat on speed. It took 12 years and a lot of grief to get to where we are, and a 2-0 defeat by Liverpool is fine, rather better than a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle, but no-one appeared to go to pieces after that. Not being at all Bladey Blade, but where we are is fine, especially compared to where we've been. Enjoy it!
