Will anyone come in for our players in the Jan window ?

We won't sell this January. How many examples are there of Premier League teams selling star players in the January window? (there are probably loads of examples now I've asked).

Foreign teams can talk to Lunny to take him on a free which I don't like. It really should have been sorted by now.

Celtic or Rangers could be interested, doubt he'd go there mind.

Can see offers for several players to be honest, but as said above I don't see us selling any key players in Jan. We are still in the hunt for 4th place.

Will they want to go - and why?

If they aren’t getting in the team regularly then yes. But otherwise?

Definitely, if we don’t have interest in 4 of the back 5 (Bash’s age will rule him out) I’ll be surprised.

Fleck will be the most sought after midfielder outside of the crazy global superstars.

Will be a good test of our resolve.

I’d be more worried if clubs didn’t come in for our players, it would basically mean they were doing shite.

Fleck has been brilliant, he makes it look effortless at times, Stevens has been consistently very good, Baldock has been good and seems to be getting better every week, JOC has been absolutely solid and so has Egan, truly outstanding centre backs, Bash is playing like his life depends on it and has been very good nearly every game, Hendo has had a few blips but overall has done very well and kept us in a few games, Norwood has been in and out of form this season but definitely more in form than out and simply has to play every minute he’s fit, Lundstram has been very good for the most part other than a few relatively poor games in the last month or so, probably tiredness with the work rate he puts in alongside is quality on the ball, McGoldrick whilst he hasn’t scored has played like a Spanish playmaker, Mousset has been very impressive, with a great first touch, pace, with a good strike rate, McBurnie after having a few pelters off me is really coming into his own, hopefully this continues, Billy won us a point at Bournemouth early on but has had his chances very limited since so it’s been hard for him to get in with the form of others, Freeman has shown some good cameos but again his chances have been very limited, that’s been the same with Besic, overall I’d be shocked if there wasn’t clubs bidding for some of our players in January, although that doesn’t mean they’ll leave, we’ve been outstanding at times this season.

Cant see any bids for blades players teams tent to not spend 50 million plus in jan ;)

Be prepared to be shocked....there won’t be any major bids for any of our players.....

An example of this is even now on the Aston Villa forum...their fans are saying they wouldn’t take any of our players.
Apparently none of our players would get in their team...so they say it demonstrates how poor Smith has been.

Think any bids will be from lower division clubs wanting squad players like Sharp, Stearman etc. possibly on loan.

Our players are still classed as Championship players who try hard...in a temporary rich vein of form.
Fleck has been so brilliant but he can’t even get in a struggling Scotland team. Until recently Egsn couldn’t get in the Ireland team.
Egan would still be sub if Derby’s Keogh hadn’t suffered his injury.

Our players look much better than their normal standard because our team tactics/ shape play exactly to their strengths.
If any of them leave they won’t be anywhere near as good in another team...unless they are used in an almost identical way. Also we don’t rely on any individual player for our results....the weird thing is we havent got a best player....so any player who leaves can be replaced without effecting the team too much.

Everybody keeps saying they wouldn’t swap any of their player for ours. So with us being presumably the ultimate TEAM....they’ll have to buy the job-lot, If they want to get a tune out of em.

My monies on Fleck , JOC and Egan .

Think we need Roy’s view from to spell a few things out for Blades fans.
If you read other clubs forums you’d be amazed that no one rates any of our players yet.

The common theme at virtually every club including Villa, Watford, Bournmouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace is none of our players would get in their sides.

Its difficult for anyone to stand out individually because we play a simple pass and move game where the onus is on “the team”.
The last time we had anyone with a bit of individual flair was David Brooks..
There's no one else at the club that stands out with individual ability..apart from possibly Mouset but its too early for anyone to bid big money for him.
Its a fantastic position to be in.....we don’t have a best player and don’t have any individual talents...our players are only good because of their team mates.

Check our goal of the month....we don’t have a single player who can score with a sublime piece of skill....or score a spectacular long ranet shot.
We have no one who will dribble past a few defenders....not a single player stands out at PL level.

Summed up perfectly SheffSteel, its Wilder et al who give the players their values bandied about on here ....

Not one manager or club will buy players on what some daft fans say on their relative forums. They’ll buy them on their performances or what they think they can get out of them.

You’re giving our players a disservice by saying they’re only any good because of Wilder, don’t get me wrong, he’s a major part of it but not the only part, all our players deserve huge credit for how they’ve gone about it themselves.

Villa have proved beyond all doubt that their fans are a bit deluded when it comes to their club and our club, I’m beginning to think that some of our fans are brainwashed into thinking we still aren’t any good and every other club has an off day against us. 🤷‍♂️

Mousset scored a great goal against Man Utd but we don’t score too many like that as we play to create almost the perfect chance, we do have the players who have the skill to do it, that’s another disservice.

Thing is we would'nt swap. Most of ours for theres
You make a good point about individual goals etc but how many wordlys have been scored against us
Teams dont get near our goal that often so well marshalled in defence with blocked interventions etc

Agree but with the exception of Egan who is the glue that organizes everything at the back. He would be VERY difficult to replace and we would suffer dramatically. Anybody remember the mad 10 minutes against Man U when he was out injured ....?

To be honest, most are playing out of their skin for CW and the system, would they be able to do the same for anyone else?

I'd guess that the summer after next we'll get a bid of £50 Mill+ for Mousset

Yes but our players are individually shit, it's the collective whole that works.

I get the point about our players performing as a collective, and maybe not brilliant individually, but don't ignore the stats, stats are huge these days, ask BA, and quite a few of our players compare very favourably in this division. Fleck and Norwood score well, as do most of our defence. I would be amazed if we didn't get much interest.

There's two ways of looking at it.
1) That our players can only play in a certain way, and they suit what Wilders needs for his system, that's why they're here.
2) They've been instructed and coached by CWAK, to play a specific role, they've been bought because they are of a character and mindset that will listen to instructions, and adapt their style to fit into the team.
I think it's 2. Which means there's no reason why they couldn't move to another club, and evolve their style to fit into the new setup.
These players should be highly sought after.
Fit, skilful and clever enough to understand what their coach wants and how the team is setup, and fit seemlessly into the setup quickly.
So, they may not be individual worldclass players, but the players we have are trained into our system, and other coaches could do the same.
But chance are, SUFC isn't yet fashionable, so our player will, for now, be overlooked.

It all depends how small the trigger value is in their contracts. Probably no where near the numbers we want them to be.
