I thought he was going all the way at one point. He’d already done 3 of them, imagine the scenes if he’d continued into the box and slid it calmly into the corner.

No doubt VAR would have ruled it out on the grounds of a nothing player like him (in their eyes) having the audacity to make mugs of the Man City superstars

There has been a lot of talk about how Fleck, Egan, Didsy, Baldock..to name just a few, have gone to a different level this season, but my god Bash really has stepped up as well. A lot of folk saying his position was most under threat at the start of the season, well that is absolute bollocks, because he looks every bit the PL player to me.

Absolutely love the bloke. Heart and soul of the club for me, along with Wilder an Sharp.

Bash gets past more people with skill than any other player in our team.

I've been saying that for years too, he got past more than Brooks and he was known for his flair.

He's one of the best in the league, but also the most ungainly which disguises it.

No fear at all, when you've commuted to a McDonalds in Gateshead on a cheap moped for a living, Fernandinho isn't frightening.

Taking the long view, based purely on his age then obviously it would be him. But as things stand it would have to a world beater to bump Basham to the bench.
