Magnificent

I thought they were all magnificent tonight. We let City have the ball but created the better chances first half. Gave them a run for their money second half.

Fuck VAR and fuck the ref.
Most of them were.

Just Two of them were not.

Despite what's happened with the controversy around that first goal tonight. We should be proud of the players for their performance against arguably the best footballing side in England right now. Got a lot of confidence for us to get something at anfield on Thursday

Ha ha! I’m not entirely convinced that you aren’t the recreation of the much lamented Len. Similarly narcissistic and pompous, and desperate to prove that you have some insight into football that us lesser mortals don’t.

👀😂
Happy that you are able to acknowledge your lesser mortal status.

In time, when you are ready, you might be able to usurp me young Jedi.

The baton will need to pass eventually. But not yet.

Not yet !😀.

Agreed. Excellent performance screwed by a bent ref who shouldn’t work in the PL again. Moose, Fleck, and Norwood stood out but could list them all.

Rather than just insinuate actually state who you think played badly. Opens the debate up then.

Snide remarks and “I’m always right” don’t really allow debate.
Interesting response.

Why did you choose to put, quote “I’m always right” ?

Just asking for a friend.

Hard as it is to look past the stupid offside rule (it isn't VAR to be fair, it's the rule) and the complete and utter incompetency of the referee to apply the laws of the game, every Blades fan needs to take a moment to reflect on what we just witnessed. Our "pub team" - mainly built on misfits and freebies with a lower league rough n' tough manager - just played the champions of England on their own patch and, at times, dominated the game, deserved at least a point and we saw one of the all-time great Blades performances from a midfielder who we signed for free from Coventry City. On a free. From Coventry City. Not a massive one for "Look how far we've come" but tonight I am going to make an exception because we have done something that, even three years ago when we beat Northampton in the last minute to hit the summit of League 1, was absolutely unthinkable. Our proud away record may have come to an end tonight but I have never been prouder of a Sheffield United team. This is the best SUFC team I have ever seen, maybe the best post-war team that Bramall Lane or even Sheffield has ever seen. It's easy to feel downhearted tonight given the way we were screwed out of the result by incompetent officials and incompetent law makers but I refuse. This football club is going places and I am confident that if the board backs the manager properly and allows him to keep improving things the way that he wants to, we are going to play European football in the 2020s. Maybe even win the League Cup or the FA Cup.

Up the f***ing brilliant Blades!

We were superb with and without the ball.

Circumstance, bad luck and new rules seem to go against us but important to know that this game could quite easily have ended in a win or draw. One of the performances of the season against a top 5 in the world side.

Great days and more to come
Thought we were good enough for a point but, tbh we were not good enough. Their quality showed through and we need a bit of that as well as 11 players giving 10/10.

It’s points that matter and refereeing incompetence potentially cost us. I’m disappointing the result and proud of the players and management team.

Their quality players weren’t doing much till the ref set their goal up. Their second came when we were chasing that with three up front.

Agree, we kept Sterling et al out of the game but just lacked when it mattered eg Moose missing that header. Just need that bit of a gifted player to do a bit of magic not just hard work

True, but again, their quality players blasted a few well high and wide.

And yet despite all that, we don’t get beaten by quality we get beaten by shoddy decisions and poor application of a review system....

Best United team I’ve witnessed in my 42 years and it’s honestly killing my love for the game

In 1971 we stood toe-to-toe with the best teams in the top flight and beat most of them.

Mind, there wasn't VAR back then.
