It’s mental that many Man City fans are not massively confident about tomorrow.

Sheffield United will be playing one of the best teams in world football on their own patch
and their fans see us as a potential banana skin...they expect to win but seriously think it will be a really tough game for them.

If anyone had said this 4 years ago......I’d have suggested they should be sectioned.
Absolutely unbelievable and Incredible progression for this club.....makes you wonder where it will end?

It's not beyond the realms of possibility for Arsenal to beat Chelsea at home. Also Liverpool can't lose to Wolves.

Then, if we take the lead we'll be 4th in the live table at least.

If (I know it’s a BIG if) we win tomorrow and Chelsea lose at Arsenal (could easily happen given how up and down Chelsea are) we would go 4th and into the Champions League spots 😂😂😂 how feckin mental is that! UTB
Chelsea won't lose at Arsenal

Not quite as mental as seeing us top of the 1st division for several weeks on end back in the 1970's, but not far off.

It depends on how you see your club doesn't it? Sheffield United, once described as "a Northern powerhouse of football", which is what we were, once, and can be again. Of course, for those fans who joined the party a bit later, you'll have an image of our club as a team that has frequently been a bit too good for the 2nd tier of English football, but never quite good enough to last long in the top tier. And for some who joined later still, they'll have an image of a big team trapped in the wrong body of League 1 for many years.

It depends where you get on and off the bus.

In my time, we've mainly been a team that has yo-yo'd between the top two divisions. We had chances to re-enter the top echelon of clubs and stay there for some time. But we blew those opportunities - through mismanagement of the club and a lack of appropriate investment at critical times. It's taken a long, long time for such an opportunity to come around again. But it's here. It's happening now. I just hope we make the most of it. By that I mean, making further sound investments in the squad to improve the team even further and ensuring our key staff, manager and players, stay put. No knee-jerk reactions to a dip in form or league position. Just sound investment, planning for the long-term, not next week. Do that and anything's possible!

Let,s just hope this isn't our Manure of the 70's, was talking to a friend (Villa Fan) of the family down at my sisters last week, we were talking about the promotion etc, how was genuinely pleased at how well the blades were doing, but a bit jealous as well I might say. We were talking about the up and coming City and Pool games for us and said we could be in for a stuffing. to which i explained to him that we don't really care as the blades have been so much in the doldrums, that before CWAK arrived we had given up, the fans were distanced from the club, disenchanted and angry, the club was floating around in darkspace going knowhere.

This I explained, had been the mix for being a blade for over 40 years +, the bright sparks being promotion under Porterfield, Then the Sir Harry period he did reconnect the club a lot back to the fans (but nothing like it is now), Colins little run, but when CWAK came in and we got going, we had never seen anything like it, I pointed out some factors that made this.

1, Billy "babyshark" Sharp...sheffield born and bred and club captain
2, CW Sheffielder, played for us and timed served apprentice manager starting on mudsoaked pitches in Sheffield, then moving up through the leagues working under AK, before the roles were reversed here.
3. He understands the club and fans and what it means, also he makes sure that any players he brings in understands this.

I said to him if you can't understand this then you do not understand what it means to have red and white going through your veins, to understand the letdowns and dissapoinments, but when the good times come a-knocking then we just suck it in and enjoy.
I finnished by saying you will have fans who feel exactly the same, as I am sure yourself will do. At which point he just nodded and said "yes I do understand", to which i replied..."Good it's your chuffing round....."
At which point after both of us had quoffed several pints later and a few attempts at hitting the dart board with some pointy things...the other people on that side of the bar had mysteriously moved to the other side of room...can't work out why....

Just a few slight problems with that Aguero, De Bruyne, Jesus, Silva, Sterling.

Anything better than a 3-0 defeat will be a result for me.

Sound, it was season 71-72, absolutely magic times.

My concern this time around would be the Ownership Dispute II aka Prince v McCabe. If this stops the investment we need plus the purchase of the ground et al it would be criminal 'cos it'll be another 50 years till a Wilder-Knill Gift Horse comes around again.

New Years Resolution to the (previous co-owners) - McCabe and the Prince Don't fuck it up.

Could be as high as 4th or as low as 8th.
it’s such an up and down league this season.
But mind set is telling.

While Spurs just one point above us are focussed upwards on securing a champions league spot, I think we will continue to look over our shoulder at the drop zone. Understandable given where we have come from.

Start of the season, I had this as a nailed on thrashing. Now I think we could draw or even nick it - this is how far we have come.

Aye....We could also have a new arsehole by 8 o’clock

The most mental stat is that going into the final game of the year-

Man City L5
Sheffield United L4

Just think, if we win and go 4th later, would the table be the best sport porn in living memory!!???
I'm 40, so I'm thinking it very well could be!

Phrases I never thought I would ever say.."Arsenal have cost us a chance to go 4th in the Premier league." Nope. And my arm is started to bleed with the pinching. That is why I bought a super sized box of plasters.
