Wilder is unwelcome in the P.L.

So do only the people who agree with you have a high IQ Woodwardfan?

What about those who, despite completely understanding what you’re saying in terms of the English language, think it’s a complete and utter pile of red hot bull turd as a point?

A better title may have been “Is Wilder unwelcome in the PL”.

But then it would be harder to accuse posters of not understanding the point. The low IQ ones anyway.

I’ve said it before. Assuming you are more intelligent than the rest of us is a BIG mistake to make on this forum, stuffed full of very clever people as it is. But going ahead and announcing it, repeatedly, proudly and aggressively, is an even bigger mistake.

Maybe it’s coincidental that the last time I posted this it was in response to the same person. Maybe it’s not.

I wouldn’t know, me. I’m too stupid.

Happy Christmas, all 👍

Good post Ceb but also misses the point I'm afraid.

The o.p. is about the P.L. managers and how Wilder shows most of them up for what they are: charlottans who are lazy and spend massive budgets on players they have hardly seen. P.R men, front men, not that he is knowledgeable about English football. They do their thing anywhere and everywhere in Europe/ the World.

They struggle to communicate in English and therefore sign plenty of poor value foreign players, in other words create a bigger comfort zone. Just imagine Pellagrini addressing our team on match day,

What is it about the o.p. some cannot understand?
I think your reputation goes before you WF.

I'd just like to say, peace on earth and mercian mild, to all of you. I'm having a day off today from arguing with anyone, but I'll be back tomorrow! ;) Happy Christmas one and all!

And what about those that are qualified in and understand what an IQ is? Your use or IQ here is both wildly inaccurate (how surprising) and also unhelpful at a more

The suggestion is not a question of anybody making our man unwelcome face to face. It's in their cosy, leather, contemporary offices they will be squirming in their seats and sitting less comfortably because our man is achieving 3 times more on a third of the budget. They will not welcome the erosion of the foreign manager gravy train.

That's the point F.G.S.

OK cool you've decided to continue to talk rubbish. Live and let live etc.

BUT, I have to pull you up on the IQ use. As a qualified practitioner, it's frustrating to see someone with an inferior IQ using the term itself within a context in which it is completely inappropriate. As a purveyor of all that is right and good, I'm sure you'll cut the bollocks and stick to what you know which thankfully for us all will lead to posts of significantly fewer words.

The thread title is possibly deliberate and misleading hyperbole. Can't find the post that said it would be better to ask, Should other PL managers be uncomfortable with Wilder's success?

As we are halfway(ish) through the season, I might add; Will the Wilder phenomenon continue, and is it sustainable? Any Blade with a few decades of following this club might be as skeptical as I am.

It could fall to bits, or it could go on to become a season that defines our club and its long term future. No one can possibly answer that, because the style and approach has taken the PL, and a few hard bitten fans by surprise. I hope it is sustainable, but I have all my fingers crossed. Apologies if some find my uncertainty and trepidation a bit worrying.

I think Wilder and Sheff Utd are both heartily welcome in the Premier League by just about everyone, fans, pundits (most not all);), players. managers. It’s a refreshing change to see a team and manager with no prima donnas, playing good expansive football, no arrogance, no play-acting, being humble and respectful in defeat and victory.

Wilder has the respect of most, if not all, for what he’s achieved and how he’s achieved it. He comes over really well and he’s a fantastic ambassador for the club. He is self-effacing and modest and has a great sense of humour.

I’m sure you’ve got a point Woody about him possibly creating envy amongst some. But he conducts himself in such a way that only the most horrible jealous types would deny him his moment in the sun.

And that’s how they probably see it. A flash in the pan that won’t prevail. After all, he’s broken the mould hasn’t he?

He’s relied on what are perceived as lower division players and values like work ethic and team spirit to propel the club to great heights in the toughest division in the world. I’m sure some will expect this little “experiment” to fail at some point because it’s not normal for this level of football.

But to believe that is to underestimate the quality of the man and the players and staff he’s assembled around him.

I’d say there are far more admirers than critics. But his success will put others under the microscope for achieving less with more.

Long may it last!
Personally, I think it is more like the owners treating him that way. Had he managed abroad or a couple of ‘big’ names successfully, he would’ve been in the frame for Arsenal or Everton. I am just thankful that it is the way it is and that he can quietly get on with what he does best......managing my (our) fantastic Blades!

I'm no mathematician, but if he's achieving 3 times more on a third of the budget, doesn't that mean that in reality he's achieving six times more? Or is it nine times more?

Can someone with more than an 'O' level in this kind of stuff please help 😵

Then there is this type of crap about an unproven manager, twenty years in the making.

Ha-ha! More like it's going to take him 20 years to win owt! :D

Reminds me of this...

If any members with above average intelligence do come back to this thread, could they also let the rest of us dullards know what a “charlottan” is? (post #33).

Is it someone who belongs to the Official CharlotteBlade Fan Club? Like Taylor Swift fans are “Swifties”, that kind of thing? 🧐

Thank you in advance, and UTMB.

Unusual for you to be a 'Spelling Policeman' ShockingBadBuy, is this your third post about this?

My spelling is correct in the Urban Dictionary and I am definitely urban, born and bred S2 and proud.

B.T.W. spelling is often a weak spot for people with high I.Q's, Donald Trump is an example!! He;s a:shark:though !!

I read is it as read too. When you read read you have to read it in context as one read can be read as the other read.you can read read and think it's read .When it's really read. Then again you could alternatively read read as read.
Best not just assume its read when you've read its best to read it then read it as read.
I read it read it was read then it became clear

+1 up the Reds.

I find it surprising that a man with your knowledge , wisdom and high IQ ( albeit all self proclaimed ) would even dream of using the Urban Dictionary as your chosen reference for the spelling of the Queen's English .

Surely you must be aware that the Oxford English Dictionary is the definitive tome in this respect and ,had you taken the trouble to refer to it , you would be aware that the correct spelling for the word you used is charlatan .

Your chosen reference will probably tell you that the the word for a man's dangly things is bollox , but that's bollocks because it's bollocks .

And while we're on that subject ..........
