They beat Man U with an horrendous error by DeGea and a penalty and had about 35% possession. A good result but hardly world beating. It will be a tough match as their players will be more confident but we are playing with confidence and desire. If we play to our standards we should get a win. Happy Christmas everyone.

Its amazing even the bottom side is self entitled and can't see anything but an away win. We have improved considerably and become more confident since we played them. It will be interesting and the crowd needs to be the 12th man.

Thanks Roygbiv have a good Christmas buddy and thanks for your hard work.
A wise sage says put 4 in our onion bag, let's stuff em.

Great stuff Roy as always

Probably less range of views for Roy to pick from
Most likely already on the Christmas pop in Hertfordshire but it runs true to form that the top teams are more gracious and balanced in their views
Agree that the positivity about themselves is to be respected
But the carping about us already having had our day in the Sun, we will get found out and fall away
Is just pure disrespect for the blades and is total BS
One thing is for sure after the game on Boxing Day they will have respect for us, whether or not they voice it.

Thanks Roy. Christmas has now officially started. Have a good one and let’s put this lot to the sword on Thursday.

Happy Christmas Blades !

By no means a given.

Honeymoon period for their Manager.

Full of confidence after recent performances.

Forget their lowly position. The tide may be turning for them.

CW as with all our games, won’t treat the opposition lightly and will show them respect.

We apply ourselves as we expect, we should get a result. A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world imo, but as with all games, we look for the win.

Looking forward to this new manager just beat Manure great game to win 2 nil Blades
Cheers Roy and seasons greetings

Got the bit between their teeth......just hope they underestimate us, we'll see. Think it will be a hard game, their recent form since NP took control has be a turnaround that shows we'll need to be on our toes. Still think that us at our best will beat 'em.

They did well v liverpool and beat Man Utd. I can see why they are in this mood. Tough game for us for sure. A early goal for us could make it a easy game but its not as easy as it looked a few weeks ago.

How on earth can a supporter of the team at the bottom of the league genuinely think they will thrash the team in 5th away?

there is confidence
there is MASSIVE confidence

and now a new one on the pigometer just above the pigs themselves

watfordconfidence

Merry Christmas Roy.

Not looking forward to this one as it looks like we’re going to get a right hammering. ⚔

Cheers Roy.

So, most of them think we will lose this one then, hope we show them it's not quite that straightforward!

I'm not saying we'll win I'd take a scrappy 1.0 now but I can't quite work out their fans. Reading that it seems like we're bottom of the league.

Thanks Roy for this & all you do in the year for us, & a Merry Christmas to you & yours.

Bloody hell though, 2 games & they are favourites for the title, I don't mind a bit of optimism but keep it real ffs. Still, this one needs our full attention, if we play anything like we can we should best these whatever they think.

That's like being back in League 1 reading that, shameful turnout from Waffleford fans.

During pre-season Chris Wilder actually infused all of his players with the finest Sheffield Steel. Think Wolverine but a bit more steely.
This has largely been attributed as the cause of their rise up the table.
“Interestingly some players have also taken on other abilities similar to Wolverine. Most famously Billy Sharp can sprout Sheffield Steel butter knives out of his hands. It is for this reason he is called Butterine. This means he isn’t as dangerous as Wolverine, but is much more yourself at breakfast time to get the squads toast buttered quickly, freeing up more time for training.”

Excellent work whoever that was.

To be honest you can't really blame them for being optimistic. They've had a woeful season, endured some real beatings and have looked dead certs to take one of the three relegation spots since early doors. They've then got a new manager and put in a couple of good performances which includes a win (albeit with a bit of luck) against a supposedly improving man utd. Now all the media talk is of Nigel Pearson conducting another great escape.
