So you’re saying 30 million and £100K a week is worth it? That’s the kind of ball park a future England keeper commands/
 



Would seem a sensible price. It’s the going rate for a promising and highly thought after keeper. Man Utd can say they got a good price, we can say we’ve a good player for the money and ultimately if Man Utd wanted him back in 3-4 years he’d be sold at a significant profit.

Agree that’s there’s maybe some creative deal to tempt all parties. Like we buy Hendo for 20 mill then Man Utd get first option to buy him back for 40 million in 5 years time.

It then gives us a full 5 seasons to find a replacement. Man Utd possibly end up with a top class keeper who is still young and Henderson still has the chance to fulfil his ambition playing at Man Utd.

It would be like extending his loan another 5 years.

Agreed although I’d hope it’s significantly higher than £40 million. In 5 years £40 million for an England international would be giving him away.
Can’t say I’ve seen anything suggesting this deal is in place though.

An excellent point. Gareth needs a busy keeper who is used to playing behind a wonky defence. Henderson gets paid for remaining alert during long spells of boredom, and providing the odd assist for forwards. ;)
 
The only game he didn't play was the 3_3 against is club other than that...... Had he played then I'm guessing we would have won that game

Did we ever get confirmation that there is no recall clause in the contract? I can see lots of "suggestions" that there's not one in place but nothing definite.

They'll buy Onana if De Gea goes. They'll want a top class international keeper because of reputation, advertising, and how it makes them look on the global stage.
 
So here’s the deal a bit like a PCP deal for a car.

Buy him now for £20 Million, he plays for us for 5 years on wages that fit our structure with lots of bonuses for performance.

After 5 years they can have him back for £20 million and they pay him a signing on fee of £10 million to make up for the shortfall in his wages over the 5 years if all parties agree

We’ll have had a brilliant 5 years out of him and if all parties agree, we can pay another £15 Million to Man U as the balloon payment and that’s the final payment.

If we get relegated in the 5 years then we can send him back to Man U for a depreciating fee down to £15-£5 million
