Cardiff just won at palace big win for them massive task now to catch them there up to 4th.

It's been over for some time really. This team isn't strong enough to deserve the playoffs or do anything about it should they actually be lucky enogh to get there.
A relatively strong finish to the season is all we can hope for. With luck some of the youngster will be given a shot.

It's not over, I wouldn't have said it changes anything to be honest. It's just as unlikely as it was at 10am this morning.

We just have to keep plucking away and hope for the best, starting with a win tomorrow.

We are well out of it and to be honest I am glad. I couldn't face another Wembley loss this season

what a lot of negative buggers ................... i don't know where yer get it from. :D

Loads of games left yet and owt could happen .lots of teams to play each other and they cant all win .
Problem is we simply arnt good enough with this scratch team we are putting out at the moment .full strength we would still be in with a shout

Swansea and Leicester wobble.
Blades and Donny overtake them.
Donny beat Blades in play-off final with a Billy Sharp goal.

It will be interesting to see if Billy's loan ends at the end of the normal season. It might be the case that he comes back and is our only fit striker for the final, and by the rules of the Football Gods, will miss the sitter 2 mins from time which would have got us promoted. We will have to file out of Wembley again in despair, this time hearing Forests celebrations.

It was ever thus...

Although Cardiff are going well, the fact that Leicester and Swansea have stumbled has, in my view, increased our chances from virtually-zero to something-slightly-above-virtually-zero. I would say that there's a good chance that one of those 3 teams will miss out on the play-offs. The question is whether we've got what it takes to be the team which takes the opportunity.

With our collection of injuries and loanees I can't say I'm confident, but you never know.

A lot of bad results at both ends of the table. Another goal for the pigs and it would have been a perfectly bad day. As it is, lets keep dreaming for now.

No it's not all over, far from it. Look at next weekend's fixtures, and, assuming we win today and against the dingles next weekend it's all back on again. Swansea are away to Cardiff and Leicester away to West Brom. Yes we have Newcastle on Monday which is looking like a nailed on loss, but still.

We have no divine right to make the playoffs, apart from the top 3 it's been a poor championship season. When 9 pts separate 6th from 14th you know you're in a sh 1t league.

Looking at the League table it looks well and truly over for me.

All that is left the last few weeks of a average season, and hopefully tonking the pigs

Come on, we'd need to win at least five, probably six, of the last seven.
Given that would mean winning an away game, it's an impossibility.

Yes, definitely. Although the Scunthorpe commentary was probably biased even they admitted we were woeful.

All done for the season can't see us picking an away point up, Barnsley will be tough max 5 or 6 points between now and end of season. 11th -12th finish will be v poor.

It is over. We would have to win all of our 6 remaining fixtures to have a chance realistically. And I cannot see us going to Newcastle and winning....and I am already concerned about travelling to the sty

It's the hope that can kill you so today feels like coming out of a coma! We can forget all about the play-offs, which given the team we have and our record in play-offs I'm not upset about. The squad needs a root and branch overhaul, get rid of the overpaid shite and start again.

A good start would be to have a squad that doesn't need over twenty loanees adding to it, bad luck with injuries taken into account it's still been a joke how much Blackwell has chopped and changed. You just can't get consistency of performance or results this way. I do laugh when Blackwell mentions that as an excuse for his own failings when it's a situation he's party to!

Roll on the World Cup and cricket season!!!

Like when you moaned about us signing Ward?

When he's wrong he just denies saying it.

I'll say it again, I was more than happy with signing Ward - it made perfect sense and I said so. I'm still not sure why you think otherwise.
Still, I can't remember who they were, but there were some people on here telling us how poor Walker was earlier this season.
Were you one of them Bob, I can't recall.
