“Connor Leak-Blunt”.

Is this like the time “Kyle Naughton” was listed as Nigerian Triallist Esrom Nyandoro?

Or is he actually the triallist starting rather than Son Of Lars?

Looks like he's the trialist, signed for Leeds in July

Have you had any time to form an opinion on Foulstone yet Phil? Be interested to hear your thoughts.

Genuine question for those that watch the U23s. Are we a young side this year? We seem to be struggling result wise, so wondered if age was part of the issue. Are we blooding them young?

Games are coming thick n fast. The FA Youth Cup at The Lane tonight. So, I thought it best to just blast out the report from the two all U23 last night. Utd looked second best to a strong Wigan XI. I was impressed by their #9, Joe Gelhardt (I believe). An unusual & disjointed starting XI, who really couldn't get much going. But, a bit of 90+3 skill to nab a point.

Connor Leak-Blunt, signed pro terms at Leeds in July, started in midfield for the Young Blades. The Official Site & Twitter always lists "trialist". But, the Carrier Bag Firm are happy to Name & Blame. We use our subtle detective skills to uncover ALL trialists. (as in, their names are always listed on the team sheet, so I don't know why the Official Site/Twitter bother....)

I've seen a fair bit of him as he's come through. Tonight, he set up as left wing back in the first half & left back in the second. I've also seen him play CB. Look. I don't want to damn him. He's a growing, tall lad. Got a simple skill set. Switched on & committed. Reads the game well. But, he's not one of those players who makes me shuffle on my seat & look up if I'm honest.

We're a Young U23 side EVERY year. In the Cox/Binnion days, that was a clear, stated, policy. Stick them in young. Find out what they've got. Trav said to me once - "if they make their First Team debut at The Lane, and freeze & can't hack it. And, that's the first time we've realised that. We've failed"
Talent Through Trauma - take them out of their zone, play them out of position, always encourage, but always stretch them.
You don't want 21 year olds languishing in Development Football. Move 'em on. Next (younger) Cab off the rank please.
Of course, we have no idea of the policies of the new brooms Lester & Hughes. Because no one is communicating owt - apart from "produce first team players" platitudes. Nothing being said on HOW they propose to do that. Last night v Wigan was an inexperienced side, with players debuting & playing out of position. For a variety of reasons - partly because there's an important FA Youth Cup game at The Lane tonight. Some players will have been held back for that.

What I want to know is when Ball_Sup (Phil) is off on his cricket interrupted beer tour of South Africa.
20 Jan (after the Arsenal away game). Back to Heathrow before the Palace away game). Just the one Test at The Wanderers. In Johannesburg, where the Beer Hunting is SUPERB. Currently on 121 SA Beer Ticks.

Johannesberg is a mad but interesting place to visit. Cape Town has some really interesting beer venues serving local brewed stuff.

How has Verrips looked is recent games? A long way off first team level still?
Sorry mate. I've tried to answer a few queries on this thread. But, yours has stumped me. I wasn't aware Verrips has already been deemed "a long way off first team". He's just the Third Keeper isn't he? In that sense, he's one injury, suspension off a place on the first team bench.
