Bournemouth - sliding fast

I thought they played well against Palace and were unfortunate to lose. I wouldn’t write them off just yet either...
I was thinking the opposite, had a lot of the ball against ten men and did nothing with it - no cutting edge plus a poor defence seems like a recipe for relegation to me

Bit hasty this. They're having a bad run and haven't been the Bournemouth who first came into the league for a while, but it was only a few weeks back they were in 6th place .

The league is mental. 2 wins for any team between 8th and 18th puts them into European contention!
Well said Roy , I look forward to the reasoned debate on here when we lose a few , and yes we will , fucking toys are all over floor from barcodes game ffs , even though they were comfortable the worst team , to come to the lane for the last season and a half ,
“Dem pigs 🐷 “ giving us a masterclass in pass and move football that was a joy to watch
Everybody got there wages this month that’s good

Bournemouth lost 5 in a row now. Eddie almost in tears at post match press conferences at a loss for how to turn things around. Team looks like they can't be bothered any more. Solanke who came in and jumped straight ahead of Moose in the pecking order can't score to save his nana's life. Funny how just a few months ago Eddie was being touted as one of the best English managers going around and now looks devoid of ideas and totally lost.

On a side note, any other players not performing for them we would nab (excluding Brooks obviously lol) Ake?

He has had his first team decimated by injury. Careful, there but for the Grace of God and all that.

No reason why Bournemouth won't string a few results together and be OK. It is only December after all.
Trouble is in this division losing is like joining a cult, easy to get into bloody hard to get out of Watford have been on an awful run since being hammered 6-0 in Cup Final.

Since we played Arsenal we've played WHU, Burnley (3-0), Spurs, Man Utd and Wolves all very credible draws which but for VAR would have been a win at Spurs. The only blot is losing to an ugly Newcastle & 7 minutes of madness v Man Utd, our home form has to improve and then pick up 3 or 4 wins on the road we should be okay. I would be more worried if I was a Bournemouth or Burnley fan both in a pretty dismal run of form, it was obvious Everton would beat Chelsea who's gunna let Big Dunc down?

How do you make it a win at Tottenham without VAR? It's not like a last second winner was chalked off. Had the goal counted they might as well had gone more offensive right away and nicked a win.

Yes and we could have held on as Spurs were on awful run, so yes VAR robbed us you tell me in the whole history of football when a player has been offside by a big toe, NEVER.

They've a bloody sight more experience than us of surviving in the Premier League in recent years, wouldn't write them off just yet personally.
I'm a Toon fan and gonna take this opportunity to say we didn't deserve to win, nor did we deserve to lose. To the point, you guys before our game were saying things like " we'll destroy Newcastle " " can see us scoring four tonight ". Your fans are f*****g believing the hype, you are not all that and your spot on. Lose 4 games on the bounce and your in the s**t, win 4 and you'll shoot right up the table. Sheff U fans need a whopping dose of reality, if you survive it's a result, but gob off when you do not before. Don't believe the hype Blades, like Newcastle, your just fodder for the " top four ". Sorry about your own team before casting aspersions on others.

Totally agree mate the attitude of a lot of our fans before this fixture and going back to the Southampton and Watford ones has been unbelievable considering where we've come from ,the miracles the manager is working with the squad and the experience and quality of the opposition .people soon take these things for granted don't they
To be fair you're the worst team I've seen at the lane in a long ,long time and the ugliest display of shit housing and anti football since afc wimbledon. And we should be extremely flattered that a club with the size of support and stature in football that yours has came to our ground and played like a lower league team.hoping for a cup.upset at one of the big boys

So thanks for that

We've had our 'dose of reality',thanks ,about three years ago when we bottom of league one after four games.
You'll excuse us if we get a bit giddy now and then, although I must say we tend to be too conservative mostly.
Can't imagine anyone on this forum saying we'll put four past any prem team,we are overall just happy to be part of it all
Our great club has generally hobbled along, for years and hopefully we're seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Really? I thought a lot of Blades were well aware that Bruce has managed against us recently and knows how to set a team up against us. Most comments before the match were quite complimentary about Newcastle and their support, for that reason I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to post that I think you’re a bunch of cunts. So I didn’t before the game. I do think you’re a bunch of cunts though.

Always preferred Sunderland 😉

That's total rubbish. Find me a quote from this forum that says anything like "can see us scoring four" please.

Imagine going on to the forum of a team you don't support and telling them they're getting ahead of themselves when 3 years ago they'd just been beaten by Walsall at home in League One. I think we are pretty well grounded thanks, mate.

In fact, imagine being on another team's forum at all? Eh Roygbiv?

That’s also a rubbish attempt at arbitration. You’re not ACAS.
I’m not convinced you’re even a Newcastle fan.

Bournemouth are a bit like us really. They are staying in the Prem because of Eddie Howe, I know their gamble to get in was way out of EFL FFP rules but they have stayed due to Howe. If we had the injuries they have suffered I do however feel, so long as it is progressive loss of players that we could cope, we have good cover everywhere. If we were to lose Chris Wilder however I feel we would drop like a stone. Seeing Duncan Ferguson's passion for Everton and the instant turnaround that has created is something we have had for three and a half seasons now. I can't see anyone around that would be able to replace our manager.
So I do feel sorry for Howe, but as Itsinyourblood correctly stated he is wealthy and would easily get another job so need need to pity him particularly. In terms of football the fortunate pray on the unfortunate, so if they do go down, we will be in the market for another Goalie so bringing Ramsdale home would be my option, they prayed on us and got him on the cheap when we were cash poor. Admittedly selling him at the time brought some cash for CW to spend which resulted in 100 points and the continual improvement since but it was still cheap.

Apart from having a good manager, they’re nothing like us at all.

I saw Eddie, not something I wish upon anyone. Yes it's a cutthroat business, and maintaining a Prem presence must be incredibly hard for clubs outside of the top 6. However, my sympathies don't really lie with any Prem manager as their rewards will provide for life after they've managed a final game for their employers.
I know that sounds harsh, but have some thoughts for those factory workers told that they're being given the heave-ho after 20-30 years employment for the same company. What will they face I wonder? A lifetime of benefits perhaps? It may not be that drastic, but they certainly won't have the financial safety net to compensate for being told they're no longer wanted.
Do you only have a limited amount of compassion and sympathy? If so, maybe save it for those who lose their jobs in countries that don’t have a welfare system, as I’d guess most of them would prefer a life on benefits than what they’re actually facing.
Or maybe it’s possible to feel sympathy for someone who’s failing in the career he loves and has dedicated his life to and to feel greater sympathy for others who face a worse plight?

Some good points , and I’ve made some em before as well
That we’ve achieved nothing yet , some of our fans are believing the hype over us , to early as far as I’m concerned
Witness the posts over pundits views on us , no not crooks and mills , but why aren’t they picking us to win boo hoo 😢
We need to stop acting like
“ Dem Pigs 🐷 “ and realise , we will go on a bad run , we will lose more games ( sorry Toon fan ) to shite 11 men behind the ball teams
But if we stay up by 1 place I’ll be happy , and I’ve said it from day 1 of the season

You'll have to forgive me BB, but I thought I'd expressed myself with clarity...maybe I was wrong, but my thoughts would go towards anyone, be they residing in this country or elsewhere, if they're faced with the horror of hopelessness and despair that arrives when all hope is gone. Despair and depression accompany this group, whoever they happen to be, it's people like this that I empathise with.........I hope that makes my position clearer.

Only won 7 of their last 29 matches I think? or something like that.

Some stats lover can correct me on this.

Maybe he has taken Bournemouth as far as they can go?

one in 4 win rate...up to yesterday we’d won 4 in 15...you get my point yes?

i agree with you, however, watch the post match interview with howe if you havent yet... he looked completely dejected, they have been very unlucky with injuries, looks like we could have had a last laugh with lys ‘pants down selling for £10m’ mousset

Maybe he had been drinking some of Mickey Adams home brew?, I remember t'owd Mickey being close to tears a few times.

All good stuff and I agree 100% with what you've put. But, I don't honestly believe that it will make one jot of difference. You've only got to go back to the threads on here from the other night after our loss to Newcastle and you'll find the negative comments about Wilder and the team have started already from some.

It doesn't matter how good a manager is, it doesn't matter what miracles he's performed to get us here - if we hit a dip in form the knives will be straight out for him, from some. That's just how it is. There is no reasoning with some people...absolutely none. They react like spoilt children if things don't go the way the wanted them to, or expected them to. And they'll lash out at something, someone, everything, everyone. That's what is really sad about it - but it will never change for them - ever. That's just the way they are, not just about football, but I suspect they are just the same about life in general. Intrinsically unhappy people, who make others around them unhappy and destroy relationships due to their negative outlook on life. They know who they are. Let them carry on and remain trapped in their depressing spiral, where football is just one more thing that feeds it.

Agree......it’s makes me sad seeing where society is heading.
Its the Facebook and Twitter culture so everything is a reaction and in order to get noticed the reaction should be exaggerated and extreme.

Everyone is raving about Wilder but you can predict that if we lose a few then there will be calls for Wilders head. However it doesn’t help that we’re a 2 club city.....so you’ll often find Pig fans trying to sabotage our efforts/ positive image...by tweeting, posting or emailing radio stations demanding Wilder is sacked.

The Blades- Newcastle matches the otter night reminded me of a boxing match where one has much more ability than the other....so one boxer gets in a few jabs...then holds on and leans on their man as soon as the other gets in close range. It became a farce at times because a Newcastle didn’t want to play and were time wasting from the 15th minute.

Last Thursday Newcastle set up like they were playing Barcelona at the Nou Camp playing anti football.
I felt embarrassed for the Geordie fans but appreciate your more limited and need to scrap for every point to survive.

The key to the match tactic was all down to Steve Bruce who came to Bramall Lane twice last season.
He came with a confident Aston Villa, tried to fight fire with fire playing open expansive football and got played off the park losing 4-1.

A few weeks later he came with a struggling Sheffield Wednesday. Blades fans felt ultra confident
but Bruce set up ultra defensive parking the bus. The match was attack v defence, we were totally dominant but created very few clear chances.
Credit to Steve Brice his team did a job on us that night and earned a deserved 0-0 draw.

Newcastle came with the same ultra defensive mentality. Andy Caroll spent more time heading the ball in his own box and rarely appeared in our half.
However credit to Bruce.....he knew our weakness that we struggle to break down packed defences....fortunately not many team in the PL have the shame to be so negative and ultra defensive.. We’re far from being football snobs and accept that teams deserve the respect to play any style which suits their players.

Also I haven’t met 1 person who thought we’d easily beat Newcastle. We have some inside info and know that Bruce is a smart tactician and woudon’t underestimate us like other managers in the PL. We knew it would be tough with many expecting a 1-0 or 2-0 max Blades win.
Altho you do have some talented players (Shelby) so always have a chance. We lost.....full credit to Steve Bruce and Newcastle United
