I know of no reunion dinners in the past either.

Of course, there wasnt a reunion of the 7-3 win as it was BAU
There was a reunion of the 1925 FA Cup winning team in 1950. I posted a photo of that reunion somewhere in this forum

Remember being on the North stand when Bobby Davison notched a double. Genuinely feared us getting mauled that night by Wednesday and we were so apprehensive in that stand right up against the Blades fans. Needn’t have worried. The last 2 blocks of that stand were 80% red and white and we were never in danger of losing. One of those ever to be forgotten nights

Anyone on here go to the reunion last night? It was a cracking night with some great stories. Really enjoyed it.

Amazing that they haven't shut up about this one game for 40 years.
Thankfully it's pretty much the only stick they have to beat us with at the moment.

Yes, the players were paraded at the Lane during half time of our last home game of the 1949-50 season. Sadly David Mercer passed away two months later. Interestingly Tommy Sampy (who was excluded from the Cup final team) joined the reunion.

A relative is one of them. His son was a very good footballer, both good blokes I must say though.
In the 90's, the youngster was playing well and Captained Sheffield boys at one point. Had a cup game played at BDTBL, I couldn't make the match because of work but this relative brought me up to speed later. Apparently a good match.
Relative. " He scored a fantastic goal at your kop end!" Going on to describe the action in DC comics style.
"Your lots never seen a goal as good darhn thee-er, an' yer'll not do ageean!"

They were dirty bastards that day first thing they did to sabella was go down the back of his legs ref did fuck all ( but those were the days when you could do that ) then speight got hammered and had to be carried off , but the main mistake that day was Richardson in the net , I still have nightmares hearing that name now

They are truly tragic. They tell us that "bouncing day" is in the past and we should let it go, while continuing to bleat about a game that happened 40 years ago. They have (annoyingly) won a cup in my lifetime, yet the proudest moment in their pathetic history is a routine win 4 decades ago.

Just imagine your team being so small and insignificant that you have to bring up something that happened before most of your fans knew what football was in order to feel better about your current plight.
