THE FUTURE ... AS IT USED TO BE

Bit of a piss poor night, wonnit?
I thought we were value for money football wise. We outpassed and outplayed the barcodes but to be honest, and here's the switch, every PL manager will be taking notes tonight, big style. Set up 5-4-1 and sit deep and stop Sheffield United in their tracks.
Our team selection was a gamble with Billy starting. I don't think he looks anywhere near as good as he has and I think that might be the last time he takes the first kick of a game for us. Impact sub or swap for knackered Moussett on 80 minutes from now on. McBurnie is still nowhere near his price tag, because those chances he has should be buried. That's what you pay £20m for. His showreel was pretty wavy hand and this is the proof. I think Swansea have had our kecks down with him. He has to get above double figures now come May to stop him being 'the striker we shouldn't have signed' and appearing on someone's 'Which players did you think we signed that would be ace but were fucking shit and a waste of money?' list on here in five years time alongside Phil Starbuck and other nightmares. The back three looked like they'd just had an international break at times, and they were effectively playing against one person, the imposing Andy 'always in the camera shot' Carroll. He did, in fairness, bully them a lot. Bash looked uncharacteristically frail, especially against Maximinimidi. The rest of the Geordie attack though was powerpuff. Norwood did boss the middle of the park but the thing I could not figure was where Fleck and Lunny were meant to be. Both had poor/middling games and failed to impose. The central three just didn't get hold of the midfield effectively although in fairness, Newcastle didn't let them either. Out wide I think Stevens and Baldock struggled but George at least got stuck in. Up front we were just not there.
So what happened?
Their first was a peach of a header ... crept into the corner with Hendo at full stretch. But Bash should have been all over him. Maximinimidi shouldn't have been able to get such a good contact and it's this which makes Bash somewhat questionable at times. It was clear 'switch off' and us looking vulnerable not stopping the cross in the first place. The second one speaks for itself. Carroll wasn't offside and I doubt Shevey would have made it unchallenged or not brought down/red card had the linos flag not gone up. After that, we looked beaten as fuck and sans ideas as Newcastle tried to break out, failed/lost the ball and reset their 5-4-1. Other PL managers now know what it takes to stop the passing game and stop the marauding centre backs and above all else, stop us scoring.
Yes, the lino has to take the rap for fucking our game in the end. His mistake cost us,but Wilder should/will have the solution. We are where we are, and it is considerably further up the top flight in English football and the best league in the world than we would ever think, two weeks from Christmas. We dropped three points tonight, it won't be the last time we do this against teams technically inferior to us. Chin up, do some pressups and get out on the pitch on Sunday and play a different game and destroy Norwich.
Henderson 6/10 Not a lot to do
Baldock 6.5/10 Did okay
O'Connell 6.5/10 No chance to get forward
Egan 7/10 Our best player
Basham 5.5/10 Looked fragile
Fleck 6.5/10 Couldn't settle and iimpose
Norwood 6.5/10 Dominated midfield, but only because they let him
Lunny 5/10 Practically invisible
Sharp 5.5/10 Not good enough at this level
McBurnie 5/10 Not showing his value or pricetag
McGoldrick 5/10 Couldn't find space
Mousset 6/10 Again, hemmed in
Freeman 6/10 Grafted and possibly needs more playing time
Wilder 4/10
Amazon Prime 2/10 Having a fucking biased, bad-speaking, protozoic, piggy cunt like Waddle was priceless. He didn't have one good thing to say about us and after an hour, I could well imagine him sat with his pants round his ankles, cock in hand, knocking one out over his beloved fukken-fukken-fukken geordie wankers. Elsewhere, it was plain to see that Amazon got what they came for - ladling praise on Andy Carroll, having Rio Ferdinand (ex-NUFC) and Jermaine Jenas (ex-NUFC) as pitchside masturbators. All they needed was Sid the Sexist and the cats of Auf Wiedersen Pet and possibly Alan Shearer all jizzing into the same handkerchief which St Steve of Bruce has mopped his scrotal face upon. They must be popping the corks at Amazon HQ tonight.
I'm relieved they didn't start on the disadvantaged Shelvey again and all the challenges he's had to face. Ugly bastard. He's uglier than that Sky commentator who used to play for West Ham.
