Newcastle played us like a fucking fiddle tonight. We’re not prolific, so Steve Bruce correctly surmised, get an early goal, and then park the bus, and you’ll win.

We should have started with the team from wolves....if last season taught us anything it was play your best available team....we aren’t a top 10 side we’re a bottom 6 and we need those points as quickly as possible!

I can see why he rested the front two tonight. A lot of matches coming up but maybe we should have played with a 10 instead.

I can’t. It was stupid and cost us. Everyone was fit so play our best 11, hopefully get 3 points and then assess for Norwich.

I’ve a feeling he wanted them fresh for the Norwich game and it backfired. Will be even worse if we don’t pick up points on Sunday now.

It’s the same three points on offer in both games, so play the best team, simple..

Norwich is a case of stopping pukki, and taking our chances, dopey decision to start two “confirmed” subs ...

We had Duffy as a 10 behind McGoldrick and Sharp last season against the pigs at home. Freeman at RWB as well, and we still couldn't break them down. We then tried a target man (Madine) at their place, but again failed to score.

So, we could have tried different things but it may not have helped. The good thing about tonight's defeat is that we can put it down to the changes and return to our 'winning team' on Sunday without much confidence loss.

It was obvious Newcastle were going to come and play horrible anti-football in hope of getting a point. Everyone knew it.

We made the fatal error you should never, ever make against a team like that and conceded the first goal (and a fucking soft goal at that).

After that Newcastle were happy for us to pass it from side to side at a pedestrian tempo in front of them. We looked out of ideas early on. Could’ve still been playing now and we wouldn’t have scored.

We’ve been shithoused well and proper and after their first goal it was such a predictable result.
