Great draw, I fancy us for a cup run this season. I can see Wilder taking it seriously if we carry on with our current league form, we'll be able to field a strong team for the Cup, although against Flyde we should still get through with the squad team - surely!

Look what happened under Clough, reasonable/ winnable games for the first few rounds saw us deep into the competition with a chance. With this squad we'd of been in the final.

Last two cup games both lost to Barnet and Sunderland we were second best in both games,shadow squad are'nt up to it.

Went to both those games,think i will give the Fylde game a miss.

You always want an easy draw, but I still haven't got over the embarrassment of being a rare Championship side losing at home to non league last year. Some say it may have helped win promotion come the end of the season, despite being a reserve side anyway, but fuck that was cringeworthy and in the record books forever. It couldn't happen again though. Could it? Surely not as the reserves now have a £20m striker

The cup should be seen as a good chance of actually winning something which is what football is all about, no one said last year or thought we should win it, surely this year we should give it a better go and finally respect the competition? That’s what I think anyway. We’ve completely took the piss out of it in the past, let’s finally respect a cup opponent and at least try to compete in the competition, otherwise tell every Blade fan that we aren’t bothered and save them the coin and pain.

I think all third round ties should be part of the season ticket. It’s a gamble but for every Man Utd there’s an FC Fylde, it would be nice to see more seats full than empty but doubt it. Having season ticket holders in buying programmes, pies and beer etc, would be better than opening up the lane for a potential 4 figure crowd.

But then the gate reciepts would be well down and Flyde lose out on money spinner.

£10 a ticket and 300 loyalty points should do it especially as I reckon it’ll be on the Beeb.

I didn’t mind us prioritising the league when we were in the Championship/League One because we didn’t have the team capable of winning it. But we’ve now got the team and are playing 8 less league matches this season, so there are no excuses not to give it a go.
