Anyone else worried about the ,soon to be vacant manager roles,and Chris getting tempted ??? Everton,arsenal, West ham, what is they offer X2 or X3 the wage he is on plus a healthy budget to boot??

There was a table in the paper, who's on the most money in the Prem, and Guardiola is miles out in front on £20m a season, but the rest, Poch was on £8.5m a season, Emery £6m a season. Absolute no brainer for us to match any other club comes in with an offer, it'd be different if we weren't getting £100m in TV money obviously, but Wilder and staff are worth those kinds of figures (if they're in anyway close) in my opinion.

Being tight is an unacceptable reason to lose a good manager when you're in the Premier League, not that I think he's motivated by cash.

No worried in the slightest.

No PL club is currently remotely interested in Wilder because he’s unfashionable and a total novice at PL level.

If you don’t believe me go on the Arsenal. Everton, West Ham forums and virtually no one has any interest in Wilder.
He‘s got great novelty value, the overlapping centre back system causes amusement
but there’s still a feeling that’s he’s a nobody from the non leagues.....so he’d be a massive risk.

Not worried in the slightest, I've just got a new manager and he's here on a 2 year contract so he won't be hurrying to move into football

Possibility and feasibility are two very different things. Maybe if we get a new set of owners, but at present there's very little chance of us paying those figures. The reason Man City and the like do it is because they're at the level of feasibility in most other areas, not to mention the net worth of their owners. We're a long, long way off that yet.

Totally agree, but to say we can't afford it is incorrect.

It wouldn't surprise me though if we stay up this season he gets something that puts him amongst the highest earners at the club. 2m a year say.

We're getting £100m TV money, plus £9/10m off USG, and then all the other sponsors and whatnot. Should we stay up and it came to it, we can absolutely afford it.

the great thing about CW is he is a down to earth and a realist ( and an oustanding manager)
He is managing the club he very clearly loves, in the city he loves , has a great group of players/ backroom staff and a fan base that quite rightly loves him and has a opportunity to establish us in the Prem and from there who knows
IF and its a big IF (with our board history!) , the board keep him happy with player signings, new contracts /improved deals for him /backroom staff and players as time goes on and very importantly let him do what he is doing now i hope (and pray) he will stay for us for a long while..

if he left for a 'bigger' club then he will ofcourse prob get a huge payrise but at what cost , move away from sheffield / have a interfering board / have players signed that he doesnt want and the huge pressure of going to clubs where the pressure to win most weeks and have an amount of overpaid /overhyped /moody players
he came to us at the perfect time in a way as he could get rid of allot of crap and poisionous players and bring in his own players and implement his styles/ethos and make sure everyone was on the same page- this would take time in the prem in a big club Imo and not all these pre-madonna's would share his visions and have massive strops and would he get that time or be out on his arse if results didnt improve immediately ?

please please Chris and co stay for many many years and let us all walk back down wembley way celebrating widly

I'm talking about the kind of figures Man City are paying Guardiola. As much as we'd like to be, we're not at that level yet. If you think those figures are feasible for a club of our size then fine, but it's probably a very good thing you're a fan and not the owner.

The fact that Everton's rumoured shortlist contains David Moyes (solid, unspectacular, risk averse, long ball, no real trust in youth) and Eddie Howe (risk happy, progressive, less solid, trusts youth) tells you all you need to know about their long term planning. Any manager would be daft to go there.
